  1. Writers Who Launch: Break Into Freelance Writing Fast MP4 | Video: AVC 1280x720 | Audio: AAC 44KHz 2ch | Duration: 1 Hours | Lec: 10 | 407 MB Genre: eLearning | Language: English Earn $1,000 or More a Month Within 60 Days! Make real money as a freelance writer - even if you've never been able to before. Taught by a freelance writer with over 15-years of experience. My work has been published in Global Traveler Magazine, The Sydney Herald, Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, Atlanta Weddings, The Huffington Post xoJane, The Frisky, NY Metro Parents, The LA Times, The Boston Globe and numerous other magazines, newspapers and websites. You don't need a big blog following with loyal fans, be well-connected, or even have much talent to break into freelance writing. You also don't need dozens of clips to launch your new career to potentially command $1,000 a month as a new writer. And that's with the possibility to skyrocket your income as you gain experience. But it won't happen overnight. All you really need is to know is exactly how to position yourself to attract paying clients who want your work. That's exactly how I earn between $100 on up to $1,500 an assignment. I can show you the ins and outs of breaking in, navigating your way to a client's inbox and landing work. So stop wasting your time paying dues and playing the "send and wait" game with query letters. There's a better way to launch a successful freelance writing career for magazines, websites, newspapers and more. I've been a freelance writer for nearly 15 years and have also worked as a video editor and Multimedia Director. And while I am persistent, none of the following worked for me in breaking into freelance writing and staying there. I DIDN'T have connections in the publishing industry. I DIDN'T have impeccable talent and writing skills. I didn't wait around to gather a lot of clips before breaking into markets like The LA Times. I DIDN'T get an MFA or take a lot of writing workshops. I DIDN'T break in with a bunch of high-end, glossy magazines. But I was also able to leverage clips in huge newspapers and big magazines in just a few short months (once I finally broke in). It took a few years to perfect my approach, but I've gotten to a point now where I can just introduce myself and land work. And it's not just because of my clips, though I have those now. And it's not because I languished around in content mills. There's a reason why most reasonably talented writers spend years breaking in instead of just taking command and getting there. And the ones who seem to break through early all know the same thing about why talent is underrated and action is everything. MOST writers struggle for so long because it's completely overwhelming to know where to start and when to have enough faith to take bigger leaps into new markets. It's hard to think you can quit writing for peanuts and start landing lucrative clients to give you that flexibility and creative outlet you crave. Are you a frustrated freelance writer who is still: Sending out queries and waiting for weeks or months only to be rejected by a form letter? Trying to break into tiny markets with no success? Drowning in a sea of information with no idea how to track down the right people? Getting advice from everyone around you - even though they've never tried to be a freelance writer? Or maybe got a few rejections and gave it up? Wondering why "real" writers consistently come up with irresistible ideas everyone wants? Afraid you'll never get ahead of your competition? Let's get brutally honest. It takes a lot more than talent to break into the world of freelance writing and more importantly - stay there. Even the most talented writers may never see their name in print without a few key steps to keep them ahead of the game. In fact, it's often less talented writers that continually land clients. What do they know that you don't? Learn how to develop a lasting craft that includes: Breaking into the industry without clips. Getting quality clips from reputable businesses and publications lightning fast! Leveraging creativity and flexibility to get ahead instead of writing talent. Stopping the cycle of fear and rejection and using your competition to do your homework for you. Taking advantage of rejection and turning it into a success story. Tracking down the right people who will buy your work and learn who they really want to work with. Leveraging your life experience for success. It matters way more than your writing talent. **** I'm a freelance writer with nearly 15-years of experience across travel guidebooks, iPhone app content, magazine articles, newspapers, websites and commercial scripts. I've also worked as a naming consultant and video editor on national commercials and films. I earn a living freelance writing and thrive in doing creative work every day. But at the end of the day, what I really love doing is: Helping new writers crush obstacle and break into freelance writing - even if they've never been able to before. But I didn't walk into my career with a roster of clients and assignments in hand. Instead I came stumbling into the arena and spent nearly 10 years breaking through with my first big clip and getting my freelance writing career rolling. Sure I had a few hits, but mostly misses, and couldn't figure out why I hadn't "made it." It was endless years of frustration. I nearly lost hope that I would ever figure it out. Like many struggling freelance writers out there, I followed all of the traditional advice like sending out query letters and endless waiting. Nothing really worked. It felt like I was missing key pieces from a jigsaw puzzle. I could see the big picture, but not the pieces to get there. It wasn't until I stumbled upon a few key methods that I ended up skyrocketing my freelance writing success. It took a lot of trial and error that took years to perfect. I pulled all that knowledge together in one place to help you crush barriers (and your competition) in just a few short months. I write for a living and if I can't get my idea from A to Z then my whole family suffers. This is the livelihood I picked (and love!) to stay home with my young children and still make ends meet. So I really didn't have a choice but to light a fire under myself and take some action. There's no sitting around waiting for an assignment to come to you, at least not in the early months and years of freelancing. You have to go out and take control of your career and build the life you want. *** Here's more to think about. Is writing a dying career? Hardly. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay of writers was $55,940 and related employment is projected to grow 3 percent until 2022. Companies need content. They need web pages and case studies just to scratch the surface. And while magazines may move towards the web, editorial writing is still in demand. I have a little secret I share with you for how I tap dozens of magazines that are only known to select groups but pay more than many national publications. Think you need an agency title to be a copywriter? You're wrong. If you don't think you're "qualified" to be a writer, think about this. Does the wine store down the street that needs some web copy and flyers want an expensive ad agency? Do they want to pay for a six-figure copywriter? No. All they want is a decent and reliable writer. And that's why just about anyone with reasonable talent and ambition can cobble together a freelance writing career without paying dues for years. Languishing away and torturing yourself over why you can't break into a market like the New York Times or People Magazine is a waste of time. It's pointless. Sure, you might break into a huge market on your first try, but there are a thousand other avenues that are easier, more profitable and usually yield a higher reward (like ongoing work). Your neighborhood alone probably has thousands of dollars in untapped writing revenue. Your city probably has editorial work ranging from glossy magazines to corporate pieces at nearby hospitals. And instead of going out there and asking for work, you're still hoping for a big break, even though the big break is right in front of you. By not acting, you're missing out acting on a dream and embracing that flexible lifestyle you crave. You can take your writing with you. You can work it into your career as a side income stream while continuing a part-time or full-time job. And if you're like me, you can stay home with your children while contributing financially and tapping into your creativity at the same time. The hard part is figuring out how to launch yourself and get started. There will be ups and downs, but once you have the techniques to land clients, you can keep applying it again and again while refining your approach. Let's get started. Who this course is for: Aspiring and struggling freelance writers looking to take break down fears and barriers and launch their careers. Writers with fluent English-speaking and writing skills. You won't achieve the same success from this program if you don't have reasonable skills. Writers who aren't afraid to dive right in and do the hard work necessary to succeed. Writers interested in learning about a variety of markets. While many techniques in this course will work for copywriting and corporate clients, it is not the main focus. Writers who are willing to take the time to develop their craft and learn the business without losing their patience after a few short weeks. Creative types who enjoy animated videos by way of learning. There are also PDF transcripts you can use. Text Mining & Natural Language Understanding at Scale Training Video 2016-07-27 | SKU: 02392 | .MP4, AVC, 1000 kbps, 1280x720 | English, AAC, 128 kbps, 2 Ch | 2.25 hours | 871 MB Instructors: David Talby, Claudiu Branzan A text mining system must go way beyond indexing and search to appear truly intelligent. First, it should understand language beyond keyword matching. For example, it should be able to distinguish the critical difference between "Jane has the flu" and "Jane had the flu when she was 9". Second, it should be capable of making likely inferences even if they're not explicitly written. For example, inferring that Jane may have the flu if she has had a fever, headache, fatigue, and runny nose for three days. And third, it should do its work as part of a robust, scalable, efficient and easy to extend system. This course teaches software engineers and data scientists how to build intelligent natural language understanding (NLU) based text mining systems at scale using Java, Scala and Spark for distributed processing. * Learn the meaning of natural language understanding (NLU) and its use in text mining * Discover how to build a natural language processing (NLP) pipeline within a big data framework * Recognize the differences between NLP pipelines and other approaches to semantic text mining * Learn about standard UIMA annotators, custom annotators, and machine learned annotators * Discover how different types of annotators are composed into a text processing pipeline * Use machine learning to generate annotators and apply them within a data pipeline * See pipeline architectures that incorporate Kafka, Spark, SparkSQL, Cassandra, and ElasticSearch DOWNLOAD http://rapidgator.net/file/a609b80a1a1c8173a804737109492083/9qhkb.Text.Mining..Natural.Language.Understanding.at.Scale.Training.Video.rar.html http://uploaded.net/file/ev3cdkcx/9qhkb.Text.Mining..Natural.Language.Understanding.at.Scale.Training.Video.rar https://www.bigfile.to/file/m3tG4MnuF37f/9qhkb.Text.Mining..Natural.Language.Understanding.at.Scale.Training.Video.rar http://nitroflare.com/view/EF4C6948FA838D7/9qhkb.Text.Mining..Natural.Language.Understanding.at.Scale.Training.Video.rar http://uploadgig.com/file/download/c0ae742760861A4f/9qhkb.Text.Mining..Natural.Language.Understanding.at.Scale.Training.Video.rar
  9. TTC Video - The Apostle Paul Course No. 657 | .MP4, AVC, 800 kbps, 714x480 | English, AC3, 96 kbps, 2 Ch | 12x30 mins | + PDF Guidebook | 2.3 GB Lecturer: Luke Timothy Johnson, Ph.D. Coming to grips with Christianity means coming to grips with Paul. There is no figure aside from Jesus himself who is more important to the history of this world religion, and no figure from the age of the early church about whom we know more or of whom we have a more rounded view. Historian Luke Timothy Johnson, the best-selling author of The Real Jesus, offers a fresh and historically grounded assessment of the life and letters of Christianity's "apostle to the Gentiles" in this 12-lecture series. "One of the most fascinating, important, and controversial figures in the religious history of the West, Paul the Apostle continues to find champions and detractors, sometimes in surprising places," says Professor Johnson. This course addresses many questions concerning Paul's embattled life and work: Is Paul the inventor of Christianity or part of a larger movement? Is he best understood from the Acts of the Apostles or from his letters? Why does he focus on moral character of the community? How do his supporters and detractors depict him? You consider his letters to the Thessalonians, Corinthians, and Galatians. You explore his religious commitments as a member of the Pharisaic movement, his persecution of the Christian sect, the dramatic experience that changed him into an apostle, and his work as a missionary and church founder. The Controversial Apostle Controversy has always swirled around Paul. In fact, it began during his lifetime. As a Pharisaic persecutor of Christianity who became one of its most vocal and active exponents, as a Jew who preached to Gentiles, and as a missionary and pastor who had to deal with a wide range of demanding situations across several decades and many miles, it is hardly surprising that Paul should attract a body of critics and defenders who are as numerous and intense as his stature is titanic. The 13 letters associated with Paul, together with the large sections of the Acts of the Apostles that recount his missionary journeys, form the bulk of the New Testament. His writings-nearly all of which were set down and circulated before the Gospels were written-have been endlessly scoured as sources for Christian doctrine and morals. A Passionate Poet of the Divine Paul is an eloquent and passionate poet of the divine. His works are full of unforgettable passages, and his words have exercised an important influence on countless "ordinary" believers as well as theological giants such as Augustine and Luther. Paul's personality has been endlessly analyzed. He is one of the great converters (or turncoats, depending on one's perspective) in history. Modern thinkers inclined to fault Christianity-Nietzsche, Freud, and George Bernard Shaw, to name three of the more famous-often save their most intense scrutiny for Paul, whose views on issues of morality, sex, and authority continue to be contentious. The Heart and Mind of a Pastor Yet amid all the controversy around Paul, we tend to ignore the things which most concerned him, namely, the stability and integrity of the tiny Christian communities to which he wrote his letters. Professor Johnson aims to rectify this by focusing precisely on these letters to learn something about Paul in the context of early Christianity. After all, before Paul became a source for theology and a part of the canon of Scripture, he was a missionary and pastor. This leads to thought-provoking questions such as: What were the problems with which Paul and his readers had to deal? How did his letters sometimes create as many problems as they solved? What clues to reading Paul can we get from recent research on ancient rhetoric? In what sense is Paul a "radical," and in what sense does he mean his letters to have "conservative" implications? What relation do Paul's preaching and writings about the risen Christ have to the Jesus whose words and deeds we read of in the Gospels? As you join Professor Johnson in reading Paul's letters as individual literary compositions devoted to solving the urgent pastoral problems of the Christian communities he was nurturing, you begin to hear Paul's voice speaking to real-life situations and genuine crises. A Portrait Drawn from Life Such reading yields a picture of Paul that is far more complex than any stereotype, whether positive or negative. It is a portrait drawn from life. You find a Paul who struggles to establish the authority to teach even in a community that he has founded (1 Corinthians), then finds its allegiance slipping away just as he is engaged in the greatest act of his career (2 Corinthians). You discover a Paul who writes to relieve a community's mind (1 Thessalonians) only to find that he has inflamed its imagination (2 Thessalonians). You appreciate a Paul who seeks to realize an egalitarian ideal, and succeeds on some fronts (Galatians), but has only ambiguous results (Philemon) and undoubtedly fails (1 Timothy) on others. You see a Paul who sets out to raise money for a future trip and ends up creating a theological masterwork (Romans). And you see a Paul who finds himself imprisoned, "an apostle in chains," yet who uses his very confinement to expand his witness and set forth his vision of Christ's church as a sacrament of the world's best possibilities (Colossians, Ephesians). Perhaps most provocatively, Professor Johnson parts company with much modern scholarship by arguing that Paul, though he may not have literally written any of his letters, should nonetheless be considered the true author of all. "The only requirement for this course is the willingness to journey along with Paul as he thinks his way through the problems he faces," says Professor Johnson. "The payoff is learning why Paul has had such an enormous influence, and why he remains a vital force in the religious life of millions, a living voice whose summoning words sustain Christian communities to this day and subvert all tendencies to reduce Christianity to a form of religious routine." NOTE: This is VHSRip. This course was never produced as a DVD and went out of print many years ago. 10. TTC Video - Greece and Rome: An Integrated History of the Ancient Mediterranean Course No. 3300 | .AVI, XviD, 649 kbps, 640x480 | English, MP3, 128 kbps, 2 Ch | 36x30 mins | + PDF Guidebook | 6.16 GB Lecturer: Robert Garland, Ph.D. In the 1st century B.C., Rome's matchless armies consolidated control over the entire Mediterranean world, and Greece lay vanquished along with scores of other formerly independent lands-yet the Roman poet Horace saw something special in Greece when he wrote "Greece, the captive, made her savage victor captive." What did Horace mean by this paradoxical quote? What did Greek culture symbolize to the militarily successful Romans? How did the Greeks, in turn, view their Latin-speaking rulers? How did these two independent branches of ancient civilization develop and then become inextricably entwined, with implications for all of subsequent Western culture? The answers to these and other intriguing questions require an understanding not just of Rome but of Greece as well. Integrated approaches to teaching Greek and Roman history, however, are a rarity in academia. Most scholars are historians of either Greek or Roman history and perform research solely in that specific field, an approach that author and award-winning Professor Robert Garland considers questionable. "It's only by studying the two cultures in connection with each other that we can come to an understanding of that unique cultural entity that is 'Greco-Roman,'" he notes. Greece and Rome: An Integrated History of the Ancient Mediterranean is an impressive and rare opportunity to understand the two dominant cultures of the ancient Mediterranean world in relation to one another. Over the course of 36 lectures, Professor Garland explores the many ways in which these two very different cultures intersected, coincided, and at times collided. Explore Greco-Roman Culture The relationship between the Greeks and the Romans has virtually no parallel in world history. Greece and Rome's relationship resembled a marriage: two distinct personalities competing in some areas, sharing in others, and sometimes creating an entirely new synthesis of the two civilizations. This synthesis created the extraordinary culture that we call Greco-Roman: a unique fusion of civilizations that encompasses statecraft, mythology, language, philosophy, fine arts, architecture, science, and much else. "The term suggests there was an unbreakable tie between the two cultures," says Professor Garland. "And indeed there was. What would Rome have been without the imprint of the Greeks, and what would we know about the Greeks were it not for the Romans?" Professor Garland cites three critical reasons why an understanding of the Greco-Roman world is so important to us here in the 21st century: The connections between the two civilizations remind us that culture is not created and owned by a single people, but is enriched through the contributions of others. The relationship between the Greeks and Romans is somewhat analogous to the relationship between the British and the Americans. An integrated study of the Greeks and Romans helps us understand how each profoundly influenced the other. Follow Twin Historical Paths Greece and Rome begins by asking who the Greeks and Romans were, what their images of themselves were, and how they organized their societies. From there, you explore their first historical interactions through trade and, inevitably, war, as Roman influence began to spread into the eastern Mediterranean. The world of the Greeks that the Romans encountered during the 3rd to 1st centuries B.C. was the spectacular Hellenistic civilization created by the conquests of Alexander the Great. It was a unified Greek culture with stunning artistic and intellectual achievements that thoroughly captivated the Romans. Roman political interactions with the Greeks, however, were another matter. You follow the long series of wars in which the Romans at first preserved Greek independence and then, having grown impatient with Greek ingratitude, duplicity, and infighting, eventually resorted to the efficient brutality for which Rome's legions were renowned. In 30 B.C., with the death of Cleopatra, the last of the Ptolemaic Greek rulers, Rome had conquered not only every Greek land but the entire Mediterranean world. A Rich Cultural Partnership For the next half millennium, Greece and Rome were inseparable. "There's never been anything quite like it," Professor Garland says. "Greece and Rome are two cultures joined at the hip, arguably the most special and the most important cultural relationship in all of history." Greece and Rome goes beyond the political and military stories and immerses you in the details of life in Classical antiquity. You investigate Greek and Roman approaches to human universals such as death, leisure, and sex. You also witness the emergence and development of an integrated Greco-Roman culture as reflected in religion, art, architecture, medicine, science, technology, literature, education, and philosophy. For example: Much of what we think of today as Classical Greek art is, in fact, copies commissioned by wealthy Roman connoisseurs. Romans displayed a love-hate relationship with Greece, epitomized by the Roman politician Cato the Elder, who was deeply immersed in Greek culture but who publicly denounced its corrupting influence. Educated Romans were predominantly bilingual, speaking also Greek. The prolific writer Plutarch recognized the value of examining the Greeks and Romans alongside one another without prejudice and wrote a celebrated set of parallel biographies of famous Greeks and Romans. Despite all their similarities, Greeks and Romans were different enough that each engaged in cultural stereotyping of the other, which amounted to latent nationalism. Throughout the lectures, you explore some of their more substantive cultural differences, including: Religion: Greek religion was anthropomorphic, with deities displaying human form and manner. Early Romans did not believe in deities but rather in numina-divine powers that had precise functions but no physical identity. Views of foreigners: Romans were far more diverse in origin than the Greeks, which made them more open to foreigners. This had profound effects, as the Romans used grants of citizenship as a political tool to cement and expand the Roman Empire. Construction: The largest structures in the Greek world were theaters, some of which could hold 20,000 to 40,000 people. The Romans had a more grandiose concept of public space, as seen in the Circus Maximus, in which 250,000 spectators could assemble to watch a chariot race. Thinking: The Greeks delighted in analyzing the world and asking questions about the nature of existence, the constitution of the ideal state, and the definition of virtue. For their part, the Romans, though they also studied philosophy, were content to run the world. An Expert in the Classical World Professor Garland has spent his entire career immersed in classical studies and in the worlds of ancient Greece and Rome. His academic research focuses on the cultural, religious, social, and political histories of these two civilizations. He has written numerous books on subjects ranging from the politics of Athenian religion and disability in the Greco-Roman world to daily life in ancient Greece and the idea of celebrity in antiquity. Delight in the wide variety of sources-literature, archaeology, the visual arts, coinage, inscriptions-that he draws upon in order to assemble a fascinating and complex picture of these two great civilizations. Value his mastery of detail on his subject, as he helps you to reach important conclusions from an analysis of the shared cultural features of Greece and Rome. And appreciate how Dr. Garland always keeps Greece and Rome focused on how this material affects us in the present day. "I profoundly believe that Greece and Rome are inside us, both as destructive and as creative forces," he says. "They've taught us our ways of being a human being and of seeing the world. We are their heirs and their guardians, a heavy but invigorating challenge."
