Artist: Greg Goebel Title: Rainy City Year Of Release: 2013 Label: Ninjazz Records Genre: Jazz Quality: Mp3 / 320kbps Total Time: 69:17 in Total Size: 163 MB Tracklist ---------- 01. Around Gamla Stan 02. The Road Home 03. 44 Hours 04. Rainy City 05. It Ain't Necessarily So 06. The Bucky Rug 07. Sleepyhead 08. Eastern Blue Ice 09. Lonely Hill 10. In the Red Greg Goebel was born in Oregon and began playing piano and composing music from an early age. Upon graduation from the University of Oregon, the school said of his achievements, "Greg has personally done more to elevate the performance level of our jazz students than any other person, graduate or undergraduate, who has attended the UofO in at least the last fifteen years." While at the University of Oregon, he received numerous awards including a Composition award in Downbeat Magazine. Greg then moved to Portland, OR where he quickly became one of the most in demand pianists in the area. His musical style, "rich with subtle complexities and harmonic surprises" make him a distinct voice among jazz pianists today. Goebel has recorded and toured extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Currently recording and touring with singer Gino Vannelli, his contributions can be heard on the CD, The Best and Beyond. As a member of the David Friesen Trio, his work can be heard on Friesen's 2009 CD, Five and Three, the 2011 CD, Circle of Three and the 2013 release, Brilliant Heart. Also as part of the Portland Jazz Quintet, Goebel can be heard on PDXV Vol. I and Vol. II. In addition to keeping a busy schedule in Portland, Goebel has had the pleasure of performing with notable musicians such as John Handy, Dick Oatts, Terrell Stafford, Larry Koonse, Houston Person, Byron Stripling, Pete Christlieb, Alan Jones, Rebecca Kilgore, Gary Hobbs, Ron Steen, and many others. Praised by critics for "manifesting his ideas with the immediacy and sureness of a master craftsman" (Jazz Times) and as "a young musician with talent to make large waves" (Rifftides), pianist Greg Goebel shows himself as firmly rooted in tradition while simultaneously proving to be a unique voice among a new generation. Showcasing 9 diverse original compositions as well as one standard, Rainy City displays the rapport between players that only years of working together can bring. Joined by world class musicians Todd Strait (drums), Dave Captein (bass) and Rob Davis (tenor saxophone), this date features fiery blowing sessions, mixed meter grooves, songs with melodic pop sensibilities and moody ballads. Reviews: "Greg Goebel's new CD Rainy City firmly places him in a small handful of world class improvisers that have taken the language of the jazz masters and combined it with the new emerging landscape of rhythmic sophistication characterized by the generation of jazzers in the new millennium. Here is a force that is stretching known boundaries and moving the music into new territory." -Larry Koonse "Greg has that gentle but self-assured touch. His solos are always measured very wisely - much to say yet never a worn out welcome. He has the gift of groove and advanced harmony, but it is this particular combination of calm and wisdom that sets him apart for me. And oh, did I mention the musician he is to work with. Congrats on the record." -Gino Vannelli By Brent Black at CriticalJazz.com Greg Goebel plays with attitude and the prolific talent to back it up. Rainy City includes nine original compositions guaranteed to put the world of modern jazz piano on notice. Brent Black / @CriticalJazz In the all to predictable arena that is modern jazz piano it is rare to hear such an original talent so firmly grounded yet artistically daring. There is a deceptively subtle rhythmic movement throughout Rainy City that marries tradition and innovation so incredibly well. Most piano ensembles of any size run the risk having the pianist as a somewhat pretentious leader accompanied by three after thoughts. Rainy City is a wondrous cohesion of harmonious thought, a perfect blend of a lyrical sense of purpose with colorful harmonics and a splash of contemporary sensibilities. Joining Goebel we find an A list lineup including Todd Strait on drums, Dave Captein on bass and the firebrand Rob Davis on tenor saxophone. The diversity in compositions as one begins to roll through the tracks are like pieces of a melodic jigsaw puzzle that contain a dynamic ebb and flow without venturing off into the pretentious abyss that so many young artists find themselves, never to be heard from again. The one cover is the George & Ira Gershwin classic "It Ain't Necessarily So." The arrangement is spot on and fresh without mangling the main theme. Occasionally Goebel will venture off the harmonic path with some odd metered gems but the difference here is that Goebel apparently does not feel the need to pitch a tent to simply prove a point. Greg Goebel is one of about half a dozen pianists that are redefining the instrument, the literature and the useful purpose of the piano and doing it with the skills of a master. 5 Stars! By George Fendel at Jazz Society of Oregon There's a new generation of scintillating players in the process of establishing themselves right here in Portland, Oregon. One who is very much admired is pianist Goebel. And you'll understand why when you listen to the nine original compositions and one classic on his new CD. Goebel surrounds himself with stellar colleagues in Rob Davis, tenor sax, Dave Captein, bass, and Todd Strait, drums. One aspect of Goebel's writing seems to be that, at any tempo, he writes clever lines with wit, subtlety and movement. For example, the title tune (wonder what inspired that?) has a drone-like aspect, but at the same time, a hopeful feeling. The only standard is the Gershwin's "It Ain't Necessarily So," one of many bright spots from "Porgy And Bess." Goebel alters the rhythm a bit, but not so much as to suggest a "look what I can do" attitude. I don't know where these song titles came from, but I liked the quirky energy of "The Bucky Rug," "Eastern Blue Ice" and "In The Red." Really, all the originals on the CD have something quite unique to offer. And Goebel deserves all the praise hereabouts. He's a burner! ~Cdbaby http://rapidgator.net/file/d565880d349a1155af6f10e2c8a8eb78/GregGoebelRainyCity.rar.html http://ssh.tf/OaB4EwjbL/GregGoebelRainyCity.rar http://uploaded.net/file/dcyf8tzu/GregGoebelRainyCity.rar

Artist: Slowly Rolling Camera Title: All Things Year Of Release: 2016 Label: Edition Records â?Ž Genre: Electronic / Jazz / Funk / Soul Quality: Mp3 / 320kbps Total Time: 45:05 min Total Size: 103 MB Tracklist --------- 01. The Fix 06:24 02. Delusive 05:55 03. Oblivion 06:16 04. Room with a View 05:14 05. Scintillation 05:19 06. High Praise 05:41 07. Unsetting Sun 04:28 08. The Brink 03:13 09. All Things 02:35 Slowly Rolling Camera was formed in Cardiff, Wales in 2013 and comprises a nucleus of vocalist and lyricist Dionne Bennett, co-composer and keyboardist Dave Stapleton plus Deri Roberts who in addition to producing the album is heard on electronics and assorted instruments and finally Elliot Bennett on drums and percussion. The group is variously augmented by horns, guitar, bass and strings where required. This is the second album by the band, the first eponymous album was released in 2014, preceded by a 7" single "Protagonist" in 2013 and was followed by an EP Into The Shadow (2015). If there is such a thing as "Power Jazz" then Slowly Rolling Camera is surely the living embodiment of this niche genre. Dionne Bennett has a distinctly forceful, emotionally-charged voiced, the opener "The Fix" offering a melodramatic and instantaneous example of her talent. The resonance and power of Bennett's voice is actually not a million miles from Tina Turner or the late Loleatta Holloway, but powerful it most certainly is. There are elements within songs like "Oblivion" which in their arrangements and dynamics are redolent of bands such as Massive Attack and even Cocteau Twins. The overarching chord-rich vamp of "Scintillation" belies its underlying complexity, building-up to a near-liturgical chant. By contrast the undercurrent of Moogy bass drone on "High Praise" is juxtaposed by Bennett's strident vocals. However, it's not all electrifying dynamism as ballads like "Unsetting Sun" prove, Bennett's luxuriant voice accompanied here by Dave Stapleton on piano plus strings. On "The Brink" there's double complexity to be found in the shape of its memorable hook and Bennett's overlaid multi-tracked vocals. The combination of Dee Dee Bridgewater's eerily disembodied, sampled voice repeatedly enunciating the group's name with Bennett's soulful, poignant vocals on the short title track send shivers down the spine. Slowly Rolling Camera has been in existence for barely four years but by the evidence of this super-confident, highly engaging album you'd think they'd been around forever. Track Listing: The Fix; Delusive; Oblivion; Room With A View; Scintillation; High Praise; Unsetting Sun; The Brink; All Things. Personnel: Dionne Bennett: vocals; Dave Stapleton: Fender Rhodes, Moog, piano; Deri Roberts: electronics; pandeiro, cuica, berimbau, udu, cabasa, calabash, ghungharu bells, finger cymbals, seed pod shaker; Elliot Bennett: drums, tumbadores, bongos, shakers, ribbon crasher, bells; Stuart McCallum: guitar; Aidan Thorne: double bass, electric bass; Ben Waghorn: saxophones, bass clarinet. Explosion! The Sound of Slide Hampton is an album by American jazz trombonist, composer and arranger Slide Hampton which was released on the Atlantic label in 1962. Big band noise from the daddy of the Trombone. While not likely to launch another swing revival, this CD is a welcome reissue to an artist deserving of more attention. The last swing craze was fueled by the sheer joy and enthusiasm that good big band music can inspire; Hampton's recordings are no exception. If Brian Setzer ever needs some inspiration, he would be wise to check out these recordings. http://rapidgator.net/file/d14ead24388a1df6738cdc758c6f6411/1962._Slide_Hampton.rar.html http://ssh.tf/kcyNBLaxL/1962._Slide_Hampton.rar http://uploaded.net/file/5zu1tuah/1962._Slide_Hampton.rar

Artist: About A Mile Title: Trust You All The Way Year Of Release: 2016 Label: Radiate Music Genre: Pop / Rock Quality: FLAC (tracks) Total Time: 30:33 min Total Size: 218 MB Tracklist: 01. Undeniable [02:57] 10. All I Need [03:12] 2016 release. Since launching 2014's biggest-selling Christian album debut from a new artist, Dove Award-nominated About a Mile is taking all the experiences over the last couple years and pouring them into it's sophomore album, Trust You All The Way. More than the successes of playing Christian music's biggest stage (Winter Jam) and having a bevy of fans nationwide and beyond, band members and brothers Adam, Luke and Levi Klutinoty have resolved to trust God with every aspect of their lives and ministry. Pouring that conviction into the album, the heart of the band is becoming apparent through their songs, including the radio single, "Trust You All The Way." "What separates the Christian from the world is one five-letter word: Faith," says Adam, lead vocalist and guitarist. "I'm not talking about faith after the outcome. I'm talking about God-pleasing faith that believes before seeing, and allows us to confidently stand within the hardest of battles. And how do we do this? By falling down on our knees and fighting through fear by boldly praying, 'I trust you all the way!' http://rapidgator.net/file/88504b0d4bad844bd87b75b769afbcdd/TYATW.rar.html http://ssh.tf/kfzXnCopL/TYATW.rar http://uploaded.net/file/krs3mx4z/TYATW.rar

Artist: Frankie Valli Title: Romancing The '60s Year Of Release: 2007-10-02 Label: Universal Motown Records (USA) Genre: Pop/Rock, Soft Rock, Vocal Quality: FLAC (img.+.cue+.log) Total Time: 47:40 Total Size: 664,37 (Full Scans) Frankie Valli has recorded only sparingly as a solo artist, and virtually never after the late '70s. (Culture hounds should already be aware that the most notable solo Valli performance was the theme song to 1978's Grease, the latest of his Top Ten hits.) But in 2007, with his recurring appearances on The Sopranos and the success of the Four Seasons-based Broadway smash Jersey Boys, Valli's fame was higher than it had been in 30 years, and he returned with the solo album Romancing the '60s. In similar company with the standards records of Barry Manilow that topped the charts in the mid-2000s, the album presents a baker's dozen of nuggets from the pop canon (plus an extra thrown in as part of a medley). It doesn't come as a surprise that Valli's tastes run as heavily into pop as Manilow's, which results in many choices from the Brill Building stable (plus a healthy dose of Motown). Also, there's a preponderance of American choices, the only one outside the hemisphere being Brit producer Tony Hatch on "Call Me" (and that one hit the charts thanks to American Chris Montez). Although Valli had kept active during the years as a live performer, it may still be a surprise to hear how his sweet falsetto has thinned as it's aged. Valli has a large orchestra behind him on most songs, as well as backing vocals on several performances to bolster his singing. The last track, "On Broadway," features the Jersey Boys themselves. ~Review by John Bush~ Release of this CD: 2007, October, 2 [CD Universal Motown Records (USA), Cat.# B0009908-02 / UPC: 602517462182] ©(p) 2007 Universal Motown Records, a Division of UMG Recordings. I Really Want You To Know (2:27) Skeeter Davis never received much critical attention, but in the '50s and '60s, she recorded some of the most accessible crossover country music, occasionally skirting rock & roll. Born Mary Penick, Davis took her last name after forming a duo with Betty Jack Davis, the Davis Sisters. Their 1953 single "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know" was a big country hit; its B-side, the remarkable "Rock-a-Bye Boogie," foreshadowed rockabilly. That same year, however, the duo's career was cut short by a tragic car accident in which Betty Jack was killed and Skeeter was severely injured. Skeeter did attempt to revive the Davis Sisters with Betty Jack's sister but was soon working as a solo artist. In the early '60s, Davis followed the heels of Brenda Lee and Patsy Cline to become one of the first big-selling female country crossover acts, although her pop success was pretty short-lived. The weepy ballad "The End of the World," though, was a massive hit, reaching number two in 1963. "I Can't Stay Mad at You," a Top Ten hit the same year, was downright rock & roll; penned by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, it sounded like (and was) an authentic Brill Building girl group-styled classic. Goffin and King also wrote another successful girl group knockoff for her, "Let Me Get Close to You," although such efforts were the exception rather than the rule. Usually she sang sentimental, country-oriented tunes with enough pop hooks to catch the ears of a wider audience, such as "I Will." Davis concentrated on the country market after the early '60s, although she never seemed too comfortable limiting herself to the Nashville crowd. She recorded a Buddy Holly tribute album in 1967, when Holly wasn't a hot ticket with either the country or the rock audience. But she certainly didn't reject country conventions either: She performed on the Grand Ole Opry and recorded duets with Bobby Bare, Porter Wagoner, and George Hamilton IV. In the 1980s, she had a mild comeback with the rock crowd after recording an album with NRBQ; she also married NRBQ's bass player, Joey Spampinato. Davis passed away September 19, 2004 after a long struggle with cancer. http://rapidgator.net/file/ae0340c120691ae7e3b89d3f368a1166/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._1_2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/seT4X1Y7L/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._1_2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/l97zrzmj/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._1_2016.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/d76fae7161edf606444cb0a904ad5bdd/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._2_2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/3SPaM7m7L/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._2_2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/3iqinevy/Skeeter_Davis_-_The_Complete_RCA_Singles_Vol._2_2016.rar

Squatterville Revisited When I learned that the town I live in was called Squatterville in the post-gold rush, pre-Civil War times, it stirred up something inside that I thought might be artistically useful. A little historical research didn't really lead anywhere except for the fact that much of the settlement was made up of gold miners down from the Sierras. But just that name - Squatterville. It stuck. And that was all it took. It's not a specific time or place on this record but something in the air. A lively darkness. A little bit scary and exhilarating at the same time. Populated by lost souls searching for something high and low. The poets, the miner, the wanderer, the blind preacher, the gypsy fortune tellers, the gunslinger, the ghost... This is Squatterville. http://rapidgator.net/file/1cc6fd3d09f08522fb1ba00be8b4525b/dbse.rar.html http://ssh.tf/TuhETn3VL/dbse.rar http://uploaded.net/file/77p8bjnn/dbse.rar
