Soul Shine (4:55) Sharon Lewis unleashes another extraordinary Delmark album; Grown Ass Woman features 12 new original songs with special guest appearances by Sugar Blue and Joanna Connor. In a review of her first Delmark album Rosalind Cummings-Yeates said 'The Real Deal' (DMK 816) qualifies as one of the best blues albums of the year' - Illinois Entertainer, December 2011. The new album kicks off with 'Can't Do It Like We Do' a tribute to the current Chicago Blues sound and scene. 'Hell Yeah!' is a total party jam, there's plenty of soul like 'They're Lying' and 'Call Home', and 'Freedom' is a timely song which points out that 'freedom cannot be freedom until freedom means freedom for everyone!' http://rapidgator.net/file/6e6d79a7e449189ff308bc612ec9fb25/SharonLewisWomanLL2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/wCLd1mI7L/SharonLewisWomanLL2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/r0suvjru/SharonLewisWomanLL2016.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/f934cec30c89617ea971f93efa905a07/SharonLewisWoman2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/wH7jaoo7L/SharonLewisWoman2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/uh2b9jr1/SharonLewisWoman2016.rar
  3. Artist: Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings Title: I Learned The Hard Way Year Of Release: 2010 Label: Daptone Records/DAP-019 Genre: R&B, Soul, Funk Quality: FLAC (Image+.cue, scans) Total Time: 39:39 Total Size: 323 MB Tracklist: 01. The Game Gets Old 02. I Learned The Hard Way 03. Better Things To Do 04. Give It Back 05. Money 06. The Reason 07. Window Shopping 08. She Ain't A Child No More 09. I'll Still Be True 10. Without A Heart 11. If You Call 12. Mama Don't Like My Man Since so few acts in the new millennium attempt the old-school soul that's the specialty of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, it may be easy to assume that they're heralded simply because of their rarity: although they certainly sound like plenty of acts from back then, they're praised because nobody else sounds like them now, something that's all well and good but doesn't quite suggest how good the group really is. I Learned the Hard Way, their fourth album, goes a long way in illustrating that they're very, very good, holding their own with all the '60s Southern and Northern soul they hold so dear. In fact, the striking thing about the album is that contrary to their deep soul rep, Jones & the Dap Kings spend just as much time riding smooth easy grooves as they do pouring out some sweat: despite its tough title, "I Learned the Hard Way" breezes with the cool assurance of Curtis Mayfield's Windy City and the instrumental "The Reason" shimmers like the sound of Philadelphia circa 1969. A large part of Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings charm is that they mix up these regional styles, blending them into a '60s soul fantasia, but they also favor recordings that sound like the '60s: there's air and grit within the grooves of I Learned the Hard Way that gives it an authentic kick. Of course, all this would be surface charm if the group didn't deliver songs, and they do -- songs that swagger and stir the soul, fitting within tradition without being beholden to it, songs that prove that Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings are the real deal. http://rapidgator.net/file/4e52b341a88a03e1bf528f54d4ae457a/2010_-_I_Learned_The_Hard_Way.rar.html http://ssh.tf/Lx2t4O46L/2010_-_I_Learned_The_Hard_Way.rar http://uploaded.net/file/1n36wpnn/2010_-_I_Learned_The_Hard_Way.rar
  4. Artist: Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings Title: 100 Days, 100 Nights Year Of Release: 2007 Label: Daptone Records Genre: R&B, Soul, Funk Quality: FLAC (Image+.cue, scans) Total Time: 33:48 Total Size: 272 mb Tracklist: 01. 100 Days, 100 Nights 02. Nobody's Baby 03. Tell Me 04. Be Easy 05. When The Other Foot Drops, Uncle 06. Let Them Knock 07. Something's Changed 08. Humble Me 09. Keep On Looking 10. Answer Me Sharon Jones, the big-voiced lead singer of the Dap-Kings -- a band that recently began making its name known outside those enthusiasts of the Daptone label and the reaches of the soul community thanks to appearances with Amy Winehouse and work for Mark Ronson, including a version of Dylan's "Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)" -- is no music-world neophyte. 100 Days, 100 Nights is just her third full-length with the Dap-Kings, but Jones has been singing on and off since the 1970s, without much of a break until she began working with her current label. Meaning, she's certainly paid her dues, and she has enough life experience behind her voice to make the words she sings sound that much truer. Because soul music -- and this isn't neo-soul, or contemporary R&B, but straight-up Stax and Motown brassy soul -- is so much more than the actual lyrics themselves; it's about the inflection and emotion that the vocalist is able to exude, and Jones proves herself to be master of that, moving from coy to romantic to defiant easily and believably. The album is much smoother, even gentler, than her previous releases, and though the Dap-Kings still power their way through the ten songs with bright horn licks, inspired drumming, and staccato guitar lines, there's a deeper, bluesier edge to the record, heard in "Let Them Knock" or the slower "Humble Me." "Don't let me forget who I am," Jones croons in the latter, her voice rising to a sweet falsetto at the end of the phrase. It's a very clean record, not over-produced but well produced, with a lot of great pop moments tucked in between the brassier, funkier bits. The title track relies on a sultry organ and a minor vamp to make its point, while "Something's Changed" uses strings and punctuated sax and bass as the singer drops a bit of her lungs out, bringing a kind of immediacy to her words, as if the actuality of the situation around her hasn't quite set in enough for her to wail about it, as if she's just realizing it and listeners are right there to hear about it. But that's the magic and power of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings: their ability to convey passion and pain, regret and celebration, found in the arrangements and the tail ends of notes, in the rhythms and phrasing, and it is exactly that which makes 100 Days, 100 Nights such an excellent release. 9. Artist: Edda Borg Title: No Words Needed Year Of Release: 2015 Label: Self Released Genre: Jazz: Smooth Jazz Quality: 320 kbps Total Time: 52:56 Total Size: 123 MB Tracklist: 01. Let Me Know (5:07) 02. Love You Don't Know (5:36) 03. Happy To See You (4:32) 04. Can I Trust You (5:01) 05. I Want It All Back (4:49) 06. Liberation (4:06) 07. Where To (5:00) 08. Continentals (5:12) 09. High Five (4:16) 10. No Words Needed (5:10) 11. Ok (4:01) There is sweet irony in the title, No Words Needed by Edda Borg. Best known for her trademark jazz and pop vocals, on her new CD Edda leads a brilliant ensemble of world-class players through suite of songs built that are first and foremost instrumentals. The sounds of the ensemble are rich and supremely smooth, as an airtight rhythm section supports rippling guitars, ringing keyboards and elegant horns across sophisticated solos and stylish instrumental interludes. Classically trained from age six, Edda was deeply influenced by the jazz records that her father, an accomplished jazz pianist and music educator, would play. Of special interest were the free form improvisational excursions taken by the soloists. Edda launched her professional career at age 16 when she was selected to join Gunnar ?ž??r?°arson's big band. A solid slate of professional opportunities followed: sessions with platinum songwriter, musician and producer Thor Baldursson (Donna Summer, Elton John), performances on lead and background vocals for the legendary Eurovision Song Contest as well as judging the Icelandic qualifying rounds. Edda's career is multi-faceted and ever-evolving: from singing with the Reykjav?k Big Band to touring with a jazz trio; creating musical promos for Iceland's top radio station to recording Ding Dong, a children's CD. Among Edda's notable credits is involvement with Bj??rks 2011 Biophillia project. Working with young musicians is among her greatest joys. For almost two and a half decades she has operated The Edda Borg Music School, where she has educated generations of emerging players. "Many graduates of my school are now professional musicians who are beginning to make their musical marks both here and abroad," she notes proudly. "It keeps you young and alive to be among the children. "Edda has also performed both in Iceland and in the United States with the legendary "Wrecking Crew" keyboardist and bandleader Don Randi. When Edda recently visited Los Angeles, she was invited onstage to sit in with Randi and his band Quest at the musician's iconic jazz venue, The Baked Potato in Studio City. At this stage in her career, Edda is rightfully proud of her achievements, but she is always looking ahead to the next level of her artistry: to new audiences, expanded venues, and upcoming challenges. "I am a really hard-working person," she says. " I look at myself as a winner, not a loser, and if I want to get something done I do it. "Edda Borg's creative expression radiates a warm glow from a cold place. Her songs, sound and sensibilities reveal the calling card of an artist with a rich legacy, an animated present and a vibrant future. The music says it best: No Words Needed. http://rapidgator.net/file/946c9057d0e3833e7a44199620e18228/EddaBorgWords2015.rar.html http://ssh.tf/QcuZ223WL/EddaBorgWords2015.rar http://uploaded.net/file/zm8ifm1f/EddaBorgWords2015.rar

Naughty Business (5:58) Frank Gambale was still a vital part of Chick Corea's Elektric Band when he recorded The Great Explorers, a hard-hitting, aggressive effort that generally has more in common with the instrumental rock of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani than the more complex jazz-fusion he embraced with Corea and Steve Smith's Vital Information. JVC asked retailers to place Explorers in both their jazz and rock sections, but in fact, the CD's jazz content isn't very sizeable (exceptions include the Pat Metheny-influenced "Cruising Altitude" and the poetic "Dawn over the Nullarbor"). Be that as it may, Explorers is a solid effort -- nothing remarkable, but enjoyable and honest. Vai and Satriani fans would do well to pay close attention to Explorers, while those who are only interested in hearing the guitarist play jazz-fusion will probably want to pass. -- Alex Henderson http://rapidgator.net/file/f2cc79960fd5945039f478e519643cfc/GREX.rar.html http://ssh.tf/CQCBQSCbL/GREX.rar http://uploaded.net/file/9ymq4ieq/GREX.rar

Sweet Lord (5:03) Born in Fort Worth and raised in the ranch country of West Texas, Seth James has fashioned his own brand of music from a list of influences as diverse as it is long. Stemming from a tall family tree of musicians, Seth's grandfather was a honky tonk piano player from the Texas clubs of the 40's and 50's, while his father carried his gold sparkle Slingerland drums all over the great Lone Star State. There is no doubt the romantic stories of the road played a pivotal role in Seth's decision to make a career out of his passion. Seth's father gave him his first guitar, a Gibson Southern Jumbo, along with a short lesson on how to play "Sultans Of Swing" by Dire Straits. After that day, Seth taught himself how to play by listening to Lightnin' Hopkins, Freddie King, and Credence Clearwater Revival. In 1996 Seth got his hands on his first Fender Stratocaster and discovered the raw power of the electric guitar. Seth's music has carried him from Acuna, Mexico to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and everywhere in between. He has shared the stage with a various array of artist such as Percy Sledge, Little Feat, Delbert McClinton, and Billy Joe Shaver.Seth released three albums as a solo artist including 2009's critically acclaimed That Kind of Man before forming The Departed with long time friend, Cody Canada in 2010. After three years and two albums, Seth decided step down as a band member of The Departed and return to his primary passion of playing the blues. With a fresh set of tunes and a great group of musicians, James continues to play for sold out rooms with his band and his beautiful wife, Jessica Murray Walker. http://rapidgator.net/file/9b8727e9eb29b51649b4f666ec36f812/Seth_James___Jessica_Murray_-_A_Million_Miles_Of_Love_2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/zrltkGChL/Seth_James___Jessica_Murray_-_A_Million_Miles_Of_Love_2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/3q1famql/Seth_James___Jessica_Murray_-_A_Million_Miles_Of_Love_2016.rar

Incognito - far more than just a band. The sound visionary Jean- Paul "Bluey" Maunick has been pioneering in the mercurial acid jazz scene, and as a talent factory, Incognito has rolled out the red carpet for vocal prodigies, such as Jocelyn Brown and the best musicians from the British groove community. Short-lived musical trends have done nothing to damage the popularity of this multi-cultural band with their driving rhythms and elegant melodies and they have become a trademark all over the world, especially live. In this vein, "Bluey" Maunick celebrated Incognito's 30th birthday on stage at the London INDIGO2 with a thrilling concert in summer 2009. It was a fantastic night: with their blend of soul and jazz, funk and fusion almost 30 musicians, with several surprise guest appearances, electrified the audience. Thanks to the contagious energy and the virtuoso solo numbers, each song became something special. And as if this band hadn't given us enough variety already, the strings of the Millenia Ensemble provided a delightful additional interplay of sound. Incognito didn't just celebrate 30 years of first-rate music and continued success with this performance - they also gave their fans an unforgettable gift. http://rapidgator.net/file/846be41783f91044411a98f954d26b3d/INLILA.rar.html http://ssh.tf/CmxCepNsL/INLILA.rar http://uploaded.net/file/4q49w889/INLILA.rar
  21. Artist: Curtis Lundy Title: Against All Odds Year Of Release: 1999 Label: Justin Time Records Genre: Jazz Quality: FLAC (tracks) / MP3 Total Time: 01:02:04 Total Size: 471 MB / 162 MB Tracklist: 1. Player's Anthem (6:20) 2. Do I Ever Cross Your Mind? (7:07) 3. A Long Journey Home (7:09) 4. Groydology (11:57) 5. Teardrops (5:45) 6. Where'd It Go? (5:32) 7. Sweet Audrey (4:42) 8. Blue Woman (6:16) 9. All Things Being Equal Are Not (7:42) Despite performing in the bands of Betty Carter, Art Blakey and Pharoah Sanders, bassist Curtis Lundy remains somewhat of a secret. But Against All Odds should swing the Miami native out of obscurity. What piques the interest throughout is the interplay between Lundy and his rhythm section, which alternates between pianists Hicks and Anthony Wonsey and drummer Winard Harper. The recording, which also features everyone from Pevin Everett and Bobby Watson, to Roy Hargrove, Shelley Carrol and Lundy's sister Carmen, brings musicians together in compelling configurations to perform nine tunes that range from Lundy's tear-jerking "Teardrops" to Onaje Allan Gumb's "All Things Being Equal Are Not." Each combination swings with stylistic cohesiveness, especially on "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?" and "Player's Anthem," which features impressive work from Watson, Carrol and Hargrove. -- Nate Guidry ~ JazzTimes.com http://rapidgator.net/file/e57074ad9f31047dd7f7441f111909f6/AGALO.rar.html http://ssh.tf/lfeV2nvNL/AGALO.rar http://uploaded.net/file/yk9oooqs/AGALO.rar

  23. Artist: Frank 'Paris Slim' Goldwasser Title: Bluju Year Of Release: 2007 Label: Delta Groove Music Genre: Electric Blues Quality: 320 kbps Total Time: 59:29 Total Size: 140 MB Tracklist: 01. Feels Like Home (4:24) 14. She's Gone (Bonus Track) (4:46) 15. 55th Street Boogie (Bonus Track) (4:20) This album from West Coast via Paris blues guitarist Goldwasser has a circuitous history. Originally recorded in 2001, it was finally released -- but only on the German Crosscut label -- in 2003. It was then given a new lease on life in 2007 when co-producer Randy Chortkoff reissued it in a re-sequenced version with fresh graphics and two bonus tracks on his Delta Groove label. The set is a bit of a mishmash too, with different backing musicians bouncing between styles that both pay tribute to classic blues forms and expand the genre's boundaries on world-influenced tracks such as the Afro-beat of "Don't Take Away My Love." Goldwasser tells the story of his professional career in the spoken word intro to the instrumental late-night groove of "Three Sisters," recounting the various artists he has played with and clubs he has worked in, ending with the titular venue. He also touches base on New Orleans second-line funk with "Petit a Petit (L'Oiseau Fait Son Nid)," sung in his native French, and shifts into a stripped-down Jimmy Reed vamp on a cover of Reed's "I'm a Love You." Goldwasser also successfully takes on soul-blues with a Latin, Santana-styled flair on "I Can't Stand It" and hits Peter Green territory on the instrumental "Melba's Bump." He shifts into lowdown swamp mode on "Well, Well, Josephine," one of the disc's most fiery tracks. It is all impeccably played and Goldwasser is certainly a talented guitarist and vocalist. But neither his voice nor tone is distinctive enough to make blues fan's ears perk up when heard in a pack of similarly gifted players. The disc succeeds on its own terms, though, driven by the artist's obvious enthusiasm for the project. Ultimately, there isn't much terribly unique about Bluju, but Goldwasser acquits himself admirably and over the course of the hourlong playing time hits enough high points to please any contemporary blues fan. However, as of 2007, six years after it was first recorded, there hasn't been a follow-up release. ~Review by Hal Horowitz http://rapidgator.net/file/b5013807063fffa024d37ff358a9ed4c/FrankParisSlimGoldwasserBluju2003.rar.html http://ssh.tf/VjV37PibL/FrankParisSlimGoldwasserBluju2003.rar http://uploaded.net/file/rfoml7ji/FrankParisSlimGoldwasserBluju2003.rar
  24. Artist: Dr. Project Point Blank Blues Band Title: Eight Blue Balls Year Of Release: 2003 Label: PGP RTS Genre: Blues, Modern Electric Blues Quality: Mp3 320 / APE (image, log, .cue) Total Time: 65:38 Total Size: 159/449 Mb (covers) Tracklist: 01. By The Way (You Look Tonight) 02. Johnny Passed Away 03. A Cross To Bear 04. Blue Ball 05. Some Other Place 06. Peace Of Mind 07. Lazy Mama 08. You Are Natural 09. The Mirror 10. It's All Right 11. You Play 12. A House Full Of Blues 13. By The Way (You Look Tonight) 14. You Give Me A Reason - Bonus Track 1 15. Up & Down - Bonus Track 2 Dr Project Point Blank Blues Band have been playing the blues for 20 years this year. The line-up may have changed quite a bit along the way, but the style of music has remained the same. Along the way they have helped to firmly establish a blues scene in the former Yugoslavia, and the release of their seventh album "8 Blue Balls" shows that they are an outfit worth taking seriously. Things start way out in left field with a short waltz introduction, "By The Way (You Look Tonight)," which will have you wondering if you have come to the right place. This is soon displaced by the rocking guitar intro to "Johnny Passed Away" which provides a good indication of where the band are coming from. Although the sound is largely dominated by tasty guitar work (from the Dr: Dragoljub Crncevic, who also handles most of the vocals), there is also plenty of keyboards on offer too, courtesy of Darko Grujic. The band show that they are happy at slowing things down on the excellent "A Cross To Bear," with its soulful (and doleful) vocals. John O'Leary (ex Savoy Brown) contributes the very fine harp licks here, and elsewhere. All of the songs are originals, and they make the most of the guitar and organ which are laid over the rock steady beat from the rhythm section of Jovan Pejcinovic (drums) and Zoran Milenkovic (bass). It all works really well too, Even though there is a rocky edge to much of the guitar playing, it never really feels like a blues/rock album. The album has plenty of high spots, with the driving instrumental, "Blue Ball," "Some Other Place"--if Jarvis Cocker from Pulp sang the blues, this is what it would sound like--and the almost funky "Lazy Mama" all worthy of extra special mention. After the full version of "By The Way (You Look Tonight)," a waltz sounding like it is being played on an old wind-up gramophone, complete with Jim Reeves-like vocals, there are a couple of bonus tracks just to make the package complete. The first, "You Give Me A Reason" has an almost Doors-like keyboard sound to it, whilst "Up & Down" sounds like it would make a great encore on a live show. "8 Blue Balls" is a very good album indeed. DR Project Point Blank Blues Band are a fine outfit, and yes, they can definitely play the blues. They also write top quality songs, many of which have great hooklines to them. "8 Blue Balls" is an album that is well worth tracking down, especially if you like your blues to have a raw, rocky edge to it. Even if you do not, check it out anyway, you may be pleasantly surprised. http://rapidgator.net/file/8ad8dd8803dd5ebbbd51c9f3ca1b6cfe/dppbeb.rar.html http://ssh.tf/yfyfHUhWL/dppbeb.rar http://uploaded.net/file/mfvzmh2d/dppbeb.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/23a7d618cae3957bb187ad22119cd58d/dppbe.rar.html http://ssh.tf/j2bWNG9WL/dppbe.rar http://uploaded.net/file/23ernvek/dppbe.rar
  25. Artist: Saucytown Title: The First Album Year Of Release: 2014 Label: Saucytown Genre: Roots Rock, Americana Quality: Mp3/320 kbps Total Time: 41:38 Total Size: 107 Mb Tracklist: 1. In My Company 2. Where Do You Go? 3. What It Is 4. Don't Disagree 5. Slow Your Roll 6. It Was Too Soon 7. Down At the Station 8. Mama Song 9. Sheila 10. You Don't Speak for Me 11. In My Company (Reprise) This album is a collection of songs written by the multi-instrumental lead vocalist, Jameson Wandling, and exponentially enhanced by guitarist and harmony singer, Brandon Edwards, bassist and harmony singer, Nicholas Von Pless, and drummer, Zach Podell-Eberhardt, with the engineering assistance of Ben Spees (College of Wizardry). With this first album, Saucytown attempts to combine all of the musical textures one might find at a live show into a condensed and tastefully arranged package. Accustomed to playing long sets that involve several instrument switches, Saucytown's first full-length album does not disregard today's technology and the ability to layer multiple instruments, beyond the limits of a 4-piece set-up, to create a much richer, fuller sound. Though Saucytown recorded this album independently, expect professional quality songwriting, musical performance, and audio engineering. http://rapidgator.net/file/00972647cf190eac6503f389dc42409f/stfa.rar.html http://ssh.tf/rajjVpsKL/stfa.rar http://uploaded.net/file/nfgwntmd/stfa.rar
