5. Judas Priest - The Essential Judas Priest (2015) [FLAC] Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/16 bit] Time: 02:24:59 Full Size: 1.05 GB With the 1980 release of Ace of Spades, Motörhead had their anthem of anthems -- that is, the title track -- the one trademark song that would summarize everything that made this early incarnation of the band so legendary, a song that would be blasted by legions of metalheads for generations on end. It's a legendary song, for sure, all two minutes and 49 bracing seconds of it. And the album of the same name is legendary as well, among Motörhead's all-time best, often considered their single best, in fact, along with Overkill. Ace of Spades was Motörhead's third great album in a row, following the 1979 releases of Overkill and Bomber, respectively. Those two albums have a lot in common with Ace of Spaces. The classic lineup -- Lemmy (bass and vocals), "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar), and "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums) -- is still in place and sounding as alive and crazed as ever. The album is still rock-solid, boasting several superlative standouts. Actually, besides the especially high number of standouts on Ace of Spades -- at least relative to Bomber, which wasn't quite as strong overall as Overkill had been -- the only key difference between this 1980 album and its two 1979 predecessors is the producer, in this case Vic Maile. The result of his work isn't all that different from that of Jimmy Miller, the longtime Rolling Stones producer who had worked on Overkill and Bomber, but it's enough to give Ace of Spades a feeling distinct from its two very similar-sounding predecessors. This singular sound (still loud and in your face, rest assured), along with the exceptionally strong songwriting and the legendary stature of the title track, makes Ace of Spades the ideal Motörhead album if one were to choose one and only one studio album. It's highly debatable whether Ace of Spades is tops over the breakthrough Overkill, as the latter is more landmark because of its earlier release, and is somewhat rougher around the edges, too. Either way, Ace of Spades rightly deserves its legacy as a classic. There's no debating that. © Jason Birchmeier /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWFkhLUcvo0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhY9GOhFwN4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM__lPTWThU Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/6786a3889e119

8. Motörhead - Ace of Spades (40th Anniversary Edition) (Deluxe) (2020) [FLAC Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal, Hard Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless Time: 04:09:57 Full Size: 1.81 GB This is not the first time Motörhead's Ace of Spades (an album onto which fans of Lemmy Kilmister have formed a veritable cult) has been reissued. While the 1996 version included three bonus tracks, the 25th anniversary edition released in 2005 was a lot more generous and offered a second disc with 15 songs, mostly alternative versions. 15 years later, the album is forty years old. Now is no better time to delve into rarities found in this new ultimate Deluxe edition that all fans owe it to themselves to own. With forty additional songs compared to the last Deluxe edition released in 2005, this Ace of Spades reissue's biggest draw is the two complete concerts that are included, one which took place in Parc Expo in New Orleans on the 5th of March 1981, the other in White Hall in Belfast on the 23rd of December of the same year. The live recordings are true witness to the London band's fiery stage presence and are simultaneously essential compliments to the famous official live show recorded for vinyl at the time, No Sleep 'til Hammersmith. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mbvWn1EY6g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eilzQSthLCY Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/6793676fbc67a

13. Alcatrazz - No Parole From Rock 'N' Roll + Bonus Tracks (2011) [FLAC] Country: USA Genre: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/16 bit] Time: 01:19:36 Full Size: 522.16 MB Though blessed with a potent voice, Alcatrazz leader (and purported star) Graham Bonnet was heavily dependent on the songwriting skills of his cohorts. Each album is therefore a reflection of the particular guitarist involved, resulting in a stylistic inconsistency that failed to attract a loyal following for the band. As such, their 1983 debut, No Parole from Rock 'N' Roll, sounds a lot like guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen's later solo albums. Still, this is an excellent record, successfully fusing Bonnet's tuneful screaming, Jimmy Waldo's tasteful Rainbow-derived keyboard textures, and Malmsteen's blinding dexterity and speed. The nearly perfect "Island in the Sun" is the album's absolute high point, and it's a wonder the song didn't become a huge hit. And while "Jet to Jet" sounds like little more than a Rainbow outtake, the epic "Kree Nakoorie" showcases Malmsteen and Waldo at their best. Other highlights include the amusing "Too Young to Die, Too Drunk to Live" and "Bigfoot," with its scorching Malmsteen riff. In short, a fine record that any hard rock enthusiast will appreciate. © Eduardo Rivadavia /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SitEuezk_Jw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rris7Ys6Z8 Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/67935a41bceee

15. Judas Priest - Metal Works 73-93 (1993) [FLAC] Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/16 bit] Time: 02:27:20 Full Size: 1.07 GB Although the double-disc Metal Works '73-'93 is an intoxicating listen, it isn't quite the definitive Judas Priest retrospective it could have been. Six of the band's 11 U.K. chart singles aren't here, and while "Johnny B. Goode" probably won't be missed, Hell Bent for Leather's "Take on the World" and "Evening Star," British Steel's "United," and Point of Entry's "Don't Go" and "Hot Rockin'" ought to have been included, especially since they were released during the band's influential prime. One could also argue for more material from the Stained Class era and less from the weaker mid- to late-'80s albums. Plus, the songs aren't arranged in chronological order, which makes it difficult to piece together the band's evolution and (sometimes trend-following) stylistic shifts. But quibbles aside, the collection makes a strong case for Judas Priest's versatility, drawing from nearly all of their albums' material, encompassing dark, driving riff rockers, melodic heavy metal, radio-ready commercial hard rock, the occasional ballad, and lyrics ranging from street-tough aggression and party anthems to sci-fi/fantasy themes and hints at Satanic posturing. The band's musicianship shines throughout; Priest's tightly controlled style was played with a sense of groove that allowed the music to breathe and kept it from sounding too tight-assed. In between the lesser-known tracks, which are often impressive, comes one metal classic after another: "Victim of Changes," "Living After Midnight," "Breaking the Law," "Hell Bent for Leather," "You've Got Another Thing Comin'," "Screaming for Vengeance," and more. Even if it isn't quite a definitive portrait of the band, it is an enjoyable one; many necessary items are here, and it rocks hard from start to finish. © Steve Huey /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM__lPTWThU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L397TWLwrUU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhY9GOhFwN4 Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/67869f216cc4e

20. Judas Priest - Living After Midnight [1997] (2002) [FLAC] Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/16 bit] Time: 01:16:59 Full Size: 574.47 MB While the '80s may have been littered with many second-rate pop-metal knockoffs of little musical merit, Judas Priest, decked out in leather and studs, always stood tall above the pretenders as the genuine article of metal greatness. Along with Iron Maiden, they helped lead the way of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and are certainly one of the best and most influential metal bands ever. The Best of Judas Priest: Living After Midnight provides fans with a collection of late-'70s/early-'80s hard-rocking classics by one of the best in the metal business. This collection focuses on the hits of Judas Priest's career, which came mostly during the early '80s, their artistic and commercial peak. Tracks like "Living After Midnight" and the MTV favorite "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" showcase one of the band's biggest strengths, which is the ability to be melodic without losing any of their intensity or edge. The band had the ability to make you sing along while they were bludgeoning you over the head with a heavy guitar attack. Live tracks like the fist-pumping "Heading Out to the Highway" and "Tyrant" feature great performances by Rob Halford, who is one of the most gifted and distinct vocalists in heavy metal history. These tracks prove that Halford's soaring vocal range is no studio creation. The brutal "Metal Meltdown" and the epic "Victim of Changes" prominently display the twin guitar attack of K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton. Many of the guitar tracks laid down by this duo throughout its career helped provide a blueprint for many shredders that followed. In true metal form, this album rarely gives you a chance to come up for air, and despite the fact that some early classic cuts are missing from this album, The Best of Judas Priest: Living After Midnight is a fine collection of top-rate British heavy metal by one of the true masters. © Paul Tinelli /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VVFNgbsDC4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L397TWLwrUU Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/67869dbb62a09
21. Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East (Live) (1979) [FLAC] Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless Time: 01:00:49 Full Size: 446.87 MB Judas Priest's first official live recording has always been met with equal amounts of acclaim and controversy: acclaim from those who consider it an excellent summation of the metal legend's 1970s output, and controversy from the critics and industry insiders who criticized what they believed to be a heavily overdubbed and studio-enhanced performance, mockingly naming it Unleashed in the Studio at times. Before delving deeper into this issue, let it be said that except for a few unfortunate omissions ("Hell Bent for Leather," "Better by You, Better Than Me") the track listing here is quite impressive. Along with powerful versions of such storming anthems as "Exciter" and "Running Wild," the band delivers the definitive version of the prog metallic "Sinner," and competent versions of their popular covers tunes, "Diamonds and Rust" and "The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown)." Interestingly, most of the tracks from the classic Sad Wings of Destiny fall short of their mark, however, perhaps because they forfeit heaviness at the expense of speed. As for the "live" dilemma, in the late '90s estranged singer Rob Halford would claim in interviews that, while the band's playing was indeed recorded entirely live, his vocals had been ruined in the original mix, forcing him to re-record them in one take in a concert-like setting. If this was the case, it would hardly be the first or most severe case of studio interference on a live recording, and fans seeking a concise, nearly flawless collection of Priest's 1970s hits will not be disappointed. © Eduardo Rivadavia /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15xlMohu9os https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO7yEgpDWZM Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/6786a2d3f0745

23. Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny [1976] (2025) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Heavy Metal Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 39:16 Full Size: 783.32 MB The year 1976 was crucial for the evolution of heavy metal, as landmark albums like Rainbow's Rising and Scorpions' Virgin Killer began to reshape the genre. Perhaps none was quite as important as Judas Priest's sophomore effort, Sad Wings of Destiny, which simultaneously took heavy metal to new depths of darkness and new heights of technical precision. Building on the hard prog of bands like Queen and Wishbone Ash, plus the twin-guitar innovations of the latter and Thin Lizzy, Sad Wings fused these new influences with the gothic doom of Black Sabbath, the classical precision of Deep Purple, and the tight riffery of the more compact Led Zeppelin tunes. Priest's prog roots are still readily apparent here, particularly on the spacy ballad "Dreamer Deceiver," the multi-sectioned "Victim of Changes," and the softer sonic textures that appear from time to time. But if Priest's style was still evolving, the band's trademarks are firmly in place -- the piercing, operatic vocals of Rob Halford and the tightly controlled power riffing of guitarists K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton. This foundation sounded like little else on the metal scene at the time, and gave Sad Wings of Destiny much of its dramatic impact. Its mystique, though, was something else. No metal band had been this convincingly dark since Black Sabbath, and that band's hallucinatory haze was gone, replaced by a chillingly real cast of serial killers ("The Ripper"), murderous dictators ("Tyrant"), and military atrocities that far outweighed "War Pigs" ("Genocide"). Even the light piano ballad "Epitaph" sounds like a morbidly depressed Queen rewriting Sabbath's "Changes." Three songs rank as all-time metal classics, starting with the epic "Victim of Changes," which is blessed with an indelible main riff, a star-making vocal turn from Halford, explosive guitar work, and a tight focus that belies its nearly eight-minute length. "The Ripper" and "Tyrant," with their driving guitar riffs and concise construction, are the first seeds of what would flower into the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. More than any other heavy metal album of its time, Sad Wings of Destiny offered the blueprint for the way forward. What's striking is how deeply this blueprint resonated through the years, from the prog ambitions of Iron Maiden to the thematic echoes in a pair of '80s thrash masterpieces. The horrors of Sad Wings are largely drawn from real life, much like Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss, and its all-consuming anxiety is over powerlessness, just like Metallica's magnum opus, Master of Puppets. (Though this latter preoccupation doubtlessly had more psychosexual roots in Rob Halford's case -- witness the peculiar torture fantasy of "Island of Domination.") Unfortunately, Sad Wings of Destiny didn't have as much impact upon release as it should have, mostly owing to the limitations of the small Gull label. It did, however, earn Judas Priest a shot with Columbia, where they would quickly become the most influential band in heavy metal not named Black Sabbath.
