Be aware of your surroundings Being aware and mindful has numerous advantages, not just for self-defense purposes. Why is that man's hand held behind his back? Listen to your gut, and trust your instincts then use them to your advantage. If the threat is coming from a terrorist, a serial killer or a rapist, compliance won't save you. Since a knife is used at close range, it is more deadly because the stabs are accurately aimed at vital organs. In your position, aim for the groin area when your attacker approaches and throw a few punches. Hitting the attacker in the groin with all your energy can be enough to stop the attack. It can also make the attacker bend allowing you to make other lethal attacks to more vulnerable points such as the eyes and the neck. This may allow you to even go for a choke or a strangulation or even a neck crank. iii. When the wheelchair tips away Imagine a situation where you are ready to fight your attacker but he tips your wheelchair away and you have to fight from the ground.
