In this online class, you will learn everything you need to know to get started creating beautiful needle-felted paintings. In Part One of the course, you will learn about wool types, tools, supplies, essential techniques, design transfer methods, blending wool and making new colors, and image editing. In Part Two, I will demo how to make a felted landscape. My goal is to give you the skills to make your own landscape. If you wish, however, you can follow along with me. Your course comes with a downloadable picture of my art and line drawing for this purpose. Students will learn to use color, size, and value to create depth, blend wools to create a gradated sky with puffy clouds, and integrate fine details to create reflections and ripples in water. I will discuss using a grayscale and value finder to choose values that add depth and dimension to a felted landscape. We will conclude with a discussion of framing.
