It includes 7 violins, 2 viola, 7 cellos and 2 basses in total. The musicians we recorded are german-known session and live orchestra musicians. All content was recorded in several recording sessions in our own recording rooms in a close and intimate distance to the instrument in a solo as well as in a trio situation. We have used condenser mics such as Neumann U-87 and TLM 103, Schoeps MK4 as well as dynamic mics such as Sennheiser MD421, AKG D112 among others. Zilhouette Strings is the first pure string library we are releasing and we are very excited about it! In summary, you get a collection of string sounds which is directly at your fingertips. You can quickly select the amount of player, mix the separate instrument groups at your own requirements, select the kind of seating and place them into an ambience - and that´s all with an intimate, natural and catchy sound. The ukulele has its origins in Hawaii and originally was a interpretation of a small guitar-like instrument taken to Hawaii by the immigrants. It gained great popularity in the United States during the early 20th century, and from there spread internationally. The tone and volume of the instrument varies with size and construction. Ukuleles usually come in four sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone. The Ukulele Trio we provide consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone Ukulele. The baritone ukulele is naturally the largest ukulele and has a different tuning which is D-G-B-E, the same as the last four strings of a standard guitar (as opposed to G-C-E-A). The 'Ukulele Trio' consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone ukulele. Our main focus was to create an ukulele instrument with a natural and organic feel and which is easy and quick to use in music production. Saying so it´s clear we skipped complex articulations such as advanced solo playing abilities. We concentrated on three different articulations. Firstly we re-recorded the muted notes, which were already successful used in the former 'Muted Baritone Ukulele'. Further we added open and dead notes to it, all recorded in 4 round robin variation in up to 4 velocity layer. In addition to that we programmed a strumming engine which performs patterns based on the pressed keys. This is best suitable for accompanying your song or music. It is very easy to use; you only need to draw your pattern in the sequencer and flip between deadnotes and open strokes - that´s it. But you are also free to strum manually by selecting the 'strummed' articulation and play around with the keyswitches. Cinematique Instruments Bowed Guitars 2 KONTAKT | 135 Mb As the name suggests "Bowed Guitars" is a collection of an acoustic guitar and an acoustic bass played exclusively with a bow. By playing these instruments this way, you´ll get a special and unique string sound: intimate and intensive with slight organic scraping. The bass is available as an amped or a clean version. We used a Martin acoustic guitar and a Harley Benton acoustic bass. For each instrument we recorded every note in a short, long and tremolo variation in at least 2 Round Robin variations. The long and short notes are key switched in one patch (not in the amped bass version), in which you can control either the dynamic or the attack by using the modwheel. You also get scriptings for each instrument providing a lot of variations such as length of release, amp simulation, reverb amount etc. Update: In 2015 we updated the Bowed Guitar and put together all separate patches into one complex patch covered by a brand new GUI. It is now possible to balance the volume between guitar bass and change the articulation via keyswitch at the same time in one patch. Inspired by contemporary compositions Interval pursues a new approach into building sounds. It is hard to explain, but in the broadest sense, it is an instrument for building inspiring pads, organic atmospheres as well as creative arpeggios. You can do things with it you can't do with anything else. During our latest recordings of orchestral instruments we have spent extra time for recording very light and fragile sound articulations. As the result we are happy to unveil an extraordinary collection of gentle and shimmering long notes of violins, celli, flute and trombones which are breathtaking. To round off this palette of sounds we have added some fine selected sounds such as harmonic violin, ebow guitar, a sine tone and more. Alone by playing these beautiful sounds in a traditional way like - without using the Interval engine - you will have a great experience of shimmering pads and organic sounds! The fundament of Interval are four separate sound slots which can be simultaneously played. Just click on the slot name to select one of the 17 instruments (see list below) to set up your favourite mix of sounds. Each sound can be used only once. In order to shape the overall sound there are a lot of tools available: attack/ release time, increase/ decrease of the highs and lows, three delays with adjustable feedback, a reverb and and an LFO which works separately for the four sound slots. After creating your sound, you can now spread the four sound slots separately to each interval step. Just click on the interval nodes to activate or deactivate the corresponding interval. We have restricted ourselves to record just a very low and gentle velocity level of the piano. This kind of playing along with the unique recording setting results into its charming, warm and intmate sound. Finally we added some EQ options, a reverb and furtherly the option to mix some string or pot fx noise to the piano which let's it quickly sound very artificial and experimental. Inspired by contemporary compositions Interval pursues a new approach into building sounds. It is hard to explain, but in the broadest sense, it is an instrument for building inspiring pads, organic atmospheres as well as creative arpeggios. You can do things with it you can't do with anything else. During our latest recordings of orchestral instruments we have spent extra time for recording very light and fragile sound articulations. As the result we are happy to unveil an extraordinary collection of gentle and shimmering long notes of violins, celli, flute and trombones which are breathtaking. To round off this palette of sounds we have added some fine selected sounds such as harmonic violin, ebow guitar, a sine tone and more. Alone by playing these beautiful sounds in a traditional way like - without using the Interval engine - you will have a great experience of shimmering pads and organic sounds! The fundament of Interval are four separate sound slots which can be simultaneously played. Just click on the slot name to select one of the 17 instruments (see list below) to set up your favourite mix of sounds. Each sound can be used only once. In order to shape the overall sound there are a lot of tools available: attack/ release time, increase/ decrease of the highs and lows, three delays with adjustable feedback, a reverb and and an LFO which works separately for the four sound slots. After creating your sound, you can now spread the four sound slots separately to each interval step. Just click on the interval nodes to activate or deactivate the corresponding interval. Each interval step has also a separate volume control. To understand how it works just change the interval (bold number in the centered field) and see what happens when you play a note. You can access these different intervals by keyswitches (C0 - Eb0) or in chain-mode which skips through the intervals by each key stroke. R2 features Bonus Intimate Piano: In addition to that you get - as a bonus - the Intimate Piano which fits very well to the strings. Intimate Piano is a completely new recorded set of samples of our beloved Zeitter & Winkelmann upright piano. We recorded the piano with two different sets of mics. One version was recorded with a pair of condesnser mics in the floor area of the piano and the other was done by a field recorder lying on the ground of the it. We have restricted ourselves to record just a very low and gentle velocity level of the piano. This kind of playing along with the unique recording setting results into its charming, warm and intmate sound. Finally we added some EQ options, a reverb and furtherly the option to mix some string or pot fx noise to the piano which let's it quickly sound very artificial and experimental. Cinematique Instruments GECKO Kaleidoscope KONTAKT | 198 MB Gecko Kaleidoscope is a new member of the Gecko family. The concept of Gecko is based on the simultaneous use of up to 6 sounds - each of them can be loaded into sound slots. Gecko Kaleidoscope provides 38 nice prepared sound sources. The Content Our major goal was the creation of deep ambient pads and mellow spheres. In order to forfill the needs of complex pads we pushed the Gecko concept a little bit forward. Now, each of the six slots is equipped with a separate pitch, high- and lowpass filter, reverb and delay knob. Beside the Fly Table feature we now included the ability of moving frequencies for the master low- and highpass filter. Furthermore we increased the amount of sound sources from about 20 to 38 sounds. The sound sources are divided into 3 groups : - an organic area with feedbacks, distortions, bells, solo violins or bowed strings - a keys area with sounds from old classical synthesizers - a fx area with noise, hizz, crackle and field recording.
