Eric Clapton - Live in San Diego with Special Guest JJ Cale (2017) Label: Reprise Records Country: UK Genre: Blues Rock, Blues Quality: FLAC (*tracks) / DTS 5.1 Bitrate: Lossless [96kHz/24bit] Time: 01:45:29 Full Size: 2,05 Gb / 5,14 Gb â?? On March 15, 2007, Eric Clapton's world tour stopped at San Diego's iPayOne Center (originally the San Diego Sports Arena and now the Valley View Casino Center). The band lineup for the tour continues to be a firm fan-favorite, with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on keyboards, Willie Weeks on bass, Steve Jordan on drums and backing vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White During the set, EC's long-time musical inspiration, JJ Cale, sat in for five songs, including three from their Grammy-Award winning album, The Road To Escondido, released in 2006. â?? Eric Clapton recorded The Road to Escondido, a collaborative effort with his laconic idol J.J. Cale, in 2006 but the pair didn't play supporting concerts due to Cale's aversion of touring. He wound up showing up for one show: a date near his home in San Diego, playing five songs on March 15, 2007 at the iPayOne Center. That guest set forms the heart of 2016's Live in San Diego, a double-disc live album released three years after Cale's death. Effectively, this marks Clapton's second tribute to Cale since J.J.'s passing -- in 2014, he assembled The Breeze: An Appreciation of J.J. Cale -- but this brief mid-concert set perhaps illustrates the love and affection between the two men better than either The Breeze or The Road to Escondido. Mainly relying on chestnuts (although the new "Anyway the Wind Blows" kicks off the set), the chemistry is there along with a palpable affection between the two musicians, with Clapton following Cale's lazy lead. It provides a nice contrast to the heavy blues that dominates the rest of the album. Working with a band featuring guitarists Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks plus drummer Steve Jordan, Clapton opens up with no less than five Derek & the Dominos numbers -- including "Got to Get Better in a Little While," not released while the band was active -- and then concludes with a bunch of blues covers (Robert Cray shows up for a closing "Crossroads"), along with his own "Wonderful Tonight" and "Layla," the only two big hits on the album. That kind of crowd-pleasing isn't part of the intention of this particular concert. Instead, Clapton decides to devote the majority of his set list to the guitar, which helps offset the easy-rolling grooves of the Cale showcase. Combined, it amounts to one of his most satisfying live albums. Tracklist: 1. Tell The Truth 2. Key to the Highway 3. Got to Get Better in a Little While 4. Anyday 5. Eric Clapton And Guests - Crossroads Revisited: Selections From The Crossroads Guitar Festivals (2016) Label: Rhino/Warner Bros. Country: UK Genre: Blues Rock Quality: FLAC (tracks) Bitrate: Lossless [48kHz/24bit] Time: 03:44:34 Full Size: 2.81 GB Founded in 2004 by the legendary guitarist, the Crossroads Guitar Festival has given fans an opportunity to witness truly historic performances by some of the world's greatest guitarists. A veritable "Who is Who" of guitar music can be heard on this set, including Clapton, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Cray, Billy F Gibbons, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Wood, and Jimmie Vaughn, just to name a few. This compilation features 40 remastered tracks of landmark performances from all four Crossroads Guitar Festivals, which were held in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013. Naturally, the all-star jams deliver some of the collection's most unforgettable moments. Eric Clapton instituted the Crossroads Guitar Festival in 1999 as a way to raise funds for his Crossroads Centre Antigua, a rehab facility he founded in 1998. Over the next 14 years, the Crossroads Guitar Festival became a semi-regular thing, always featuring a Slowhand-curated crop of guitarists. Barring the 1999 fest, each of these years - 2004, 2007, 2010, and 2013 - were recorded and released as CDs and DVDs, which makes the 2016 triple-disc Crossroads Revisited: Selections from the Crossroads Guitar Festivals a sampler of these particular records. Although Jeff Beck relies heavily on his 1989 album Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop, there are no surprises either in artists or song selections, although the execution can occasionally take a left turn; ZZ Top's heavy, churning "Waiting for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" is entirely instrumental. Time has shifted the tenor of some of the selections, too: B.B. King, Hubert Sumlin, and J.J. Cale have all passed since their appearances at Crossroads, so their presence carries some poignancy. Generally, though, this is big, bright shiny stadium guitar music, a proud showcase for chops whose interest relies entirely on how much the listener likes blues-based rock guitar solos. There are some exceptions to this rule - Sheryl Crow was here to sing country songs in 2010, while 2004 saw Vince Gill and Jerry Douglas stop by and Joe Walsh playing "Steam Roller" with James Taylor, but this is a place where John Mayer and Gary Clark, Jr. are the new guns - although this festival was designed so that Albert Lee, Derek Trucks, Robert Cray, Beck, and Clapton himself could stretch out, which they do repeatedly. Not necessarily performances for the ages but solid all the same. Tracklist: 01. Sweet Home Chicago (Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Jimmie Vaughan) (5:26) 02. Eric Clapton - Give Me Strength - The '74/'75 Recordings (2013) Label: Universal Music Group Country: UK Genre: Rock,Soft Rock,Blues Rock Quality: FLAC 5.1 (tracks) Bitrate: Lossless [96kHz/24bit] Time: 00:57:32 Full Size: 3,10 Gb 461 Ocean Boulevard was Eric Clapton's comeback, the record that saw him returning from a struggle with heroin addiction to reclaim his position as one of the world's biggest rock stars. The 1974 album forms the core of Give Me Strength: The 1974/1975 Recordings, a massive five-CD/one-BluRay box set documenting Clapton's mid-'70s recordings. The first CD is dedicated to an expanded version of 461 Ocean Boulevard -- an expansion that is different than the 2004 double-disc Deluxe Edition -- while the second CD is an expanded version of 1975's There's One in Every Crowd. Discs three and four are handed over to an expanded version of the 1975 live album E.C. Was Here, turning the single-LP into a double, while the fifth disc is devoted to a jam session at Criteria Studios with Freddie King. Finally, the BluRay contains a previously unreleased 5.1 mix of 461 Ocean Boulevard, along with its original quadraphonic mix, plus the quad mix of There's One in Every Crowd. It's a rather exhaustive overhaul of an era of E.C.'s career that isn't particularly storied, and all the extra material doesn't add mystique but it does re-create context, capturing how the mid-'70s could often feel like a long series of languid, meandering blues and reggae jams. Neither There's One in Every Crowd nor E.C. Was Here were particularly focused, and the additional material accentuates their laziness while having the side effect of having 461 Ocean Boulevard sound bolder (even though it already was a decidedly relaxed affair). All this drifting blues doesn't mean Give Me Strength isn't worthwhile. Quite the contrary: this is precisely the kind of archival release that does deepen the historical record, revealing the extent of the guitarist's reggae fixation while emphasizing how quickly Clapton settled into a relaxed groove after his comeback. Sometimes the jams do wind up cooking -- this is particularly true of the jam with King -- but usually they're improvisation as mood music, smoke-filled superstar sessions where the intention is to play on and on until the night is gone. Artist: Eric Clapton Salute Title: I Feel Free Year Of Release: 2009 Label: BHP Music Genre: Instrumental, Blues Rock, Electric Blues Quality: FLAC Total Time: 52:05 Total Size: 373 MB Tracklist: 01. Badge by James Ryan (5:23) 02. Hideaway by Martin Winch (3:19) 03. Tears In Heaven by Doug Doppler (3:45) 04. I Feel Free by Howard Hart (3:53) 05. White Room by Randy Coven (4:19) 06. Crossroads by Chris Mahoney (5:43) Bonus Tracks: 11. How Blue Can You Get by B.B. King (3:27) 12. Politician by Pat Travers (4:22) The funny thing about tributes to Eric Clapton is that Clapton has done them himself, and he would be the first to tell you that his career has been built on his attempts to emulate his own blues heroes, and that would be true to a point, but Clapton was wise enough, or maybe, at times, just lucky enough, to show how those players he loved could be translated into the electric age of rock, and he did it with a tremendous amount of raw elegance and style more often than not. This tribute set doesn't stretch things too far, and while cuts here like James Ryan's version of "Badge" and Brian Tarquin's version of "Sunshine of Your Love" are big, boisterous, and fun to hear, they work largely because of the original and defining riffs that Clapton devised to carry these songs in the first place. The real gem of the disc is a live, horn-filled take on "How Blue Can You Get" (listed as one of two "bonus" tracks here) by B.B. King. One imagines it would be the track Clapton would go to first, next, and last. King makes the song his. No one else here does that. http://rapidgator.net/file/3f6eeade0c145edb530875ce92ff6115/Eric_Clapton_Salute_I_Feel_Free.rar.html http://ssh.tf/rDrLyeI54/Eric_Clapton_Salute_I_Feel_Free.rar https://bytewhale.com/4h39aagk2qns/Eric_Clapton_Salute_I_Feel_Free.rar
