Total Randomization & FX The BLENDSTRUMENT is designed around the ability to randomize everything and create completely new sounds and instrument that no mortal soul has ever heard. This includes the ability to RANDOMIZE everything, including samples, sample parameters, global effects, anything that could possible be randomized. All it takes is a single click and you have created an entire, never heard before, universe of sounds. Pulse Architecture The BLENDSTRUMENT is designed to be a rhythmic, pulsing instrument that adapts to your DAW Host-Tempo. We designed in such a way that you can PULSE between two different pods, which each contains a fully loaded Blendstrument. The PULSE architecture allows you control all crucial elements in the pulsing, including MIX, PAN and SPEED of the PULSE. If that is not enough - try combining it with our advanced GATE function too. Textural Convolutions Textural Convolutions is a new way of using convolution to create textural delays. The idea is to use non-conventional convolution impulses to augment the existing sound. So when the instrument delays - you will not just get a normal delay of the instrument, but also get the delay and texture of the convolution. This concept is called Textural Convolutions and we hand-crafted over 300 new impulses for the Blendstrument. The Textural Convolutions can also be randomized. Reversed Blendstrument We also created the entire Blendstrument in REVERSE. Every single sample now plays backwards - creating an entirely new take on the Blendstrument. This is great for creating more underscore type of beds and works fantastic with regular Blendstrument too. A great trick is to load two instances of Blendstrument. One regular and one reversed. Assign them to same midi-channel and active one POD in each. You now have both forward and reversed at the same time. Chaos Effects 3.3 The Blendstrument contains a massive global FX section and RANDOMIZATION system, but we also added our latest 3.3 FX Chaos Engine on top. This feature is recommended for power-users that want to shape their Blendstrumentation even further, including Filter, Step-Based Filter, EQ, Bit-Crusher, Distortion, Dual Stereo-Delay and two additional convolution systems on top of our custom Textural Convolutions. Binary Music PD-1000 KONTAKT | 540 Mb PD1000 is a highly detailed library of sounds sampled from the Casio CZ1000, developed for Native Instruments Kontakt 4 and higher. In total, there are 108 patches (including all of the original ROM sounds), made from 1,349 individual samples. All samples were recorded in 24 bit at 44.1 kHz through an Inward Connections Vac Rac 4000 pre-amp, into an RME Fireface 800. Originally manufactured in 1985, the CZ1000 was a full-size version of the CZ101. Notable users included The Human League, Moby, The Orb, Eat Static and was perhaps most famously used by Vince Clarke, who at one time had a rack of eight of them. Casio's keyboards in the 1980s used a type of synthesis called Phase Distortion (where our product gets its name from), which creates similar timbres to FM synthesis, which was pioneered by Yamaha around the same time. Instead of traditional filters, a Digitally Controlled Waveform (DCW) distorts the phase of the oscillators and can produce some surprisingly analogue textures. Although having a well specified eight stage envelope, the CZ1000 was lacking in polyphony - in the two oscillator per voice mode, polyphony was reduced to four notes - not a problem with the sampled version! Another problem with the hardware was that although the tuning was stable, (as you'd expect with a digital synth) it was very difficult to tune to concert pitch and we've taken care to make sure that all the patches are tuned accurately. Binary Music Electrophonics KONTAKT | 789 Mb Electrophonics is an eclectic library of sounds created by, or processed through a modular synth system. Great for soundtrack work, but equally useful for adding texture or more organic elements to all types of electronic music. There are 138 patches (plus an additional 32 Time Machine versions of patches with rhythmic content), made from more than 730, 24 bit 44.1kHz samples. The patches are arranged in categories: Coolicon, Drones, Filter Sweeps, Modular Tones, Odyssey FX, Percussion, Space Atmospheres, and Zither. There are also convolution impulses from a Roland SRE-555 and a Doepfer A-199 spring reverb. The Coolicon is a type of light shade that was used at the BBC in the 1960s. While recording at the Radiophonic Workshop, Delia Derbyshire discovered that they were rich in harmonic overtones, (similar to a Tibetan Prayer bowl or bell), analysed the frequencies, then recreated the sound with a collection of oscillators. We've used band pass filters to break the sound down into its different components - some tonal and some atonal - and then processed them through a variety of synth modules and effects. There are 40 patches in the Coolicon section and the demo track 'The Green Lamp' was made purely from these. The filters in our modular system include a cloned ARP 2600 by Analog Metropolis, a Buchla Low Pass Gate by Thomas White, a Blue Lantern Polivoks, Moog and TB303 types by Doepfer. Some sounds were also created by our ARP Odyssey and a toy zither. The main panel has controls for volume envelope and modulation, pitch mod and filter controls (only a couple of patches use the Kontakt filter, but it is here as a convenient method of quickly changing timbre). There is also a global effects bypass switch. There are a further three control panels - Voicing/Time Machine, FX1 & FX2 - see the photos below. Binary Music Electrophonics KONTAKT | 789 Mb Electrophonics is an eclectic library of sounds created by, or processed through a modular synth system. Great for soundtrack work, but equally useful for adding texture or more organic elements to all types of electronic music. There are 138 patches (plus an additional 32 Time Machine versions of patches with rhythmic content), made from more than 730, 24 bit 44.1kHz samples. The patches are arranged in categories: Coolicon, Drones, Filter Sweeps, Modular Tones, Odyssey FX, Percussion, Space Atmospheres, and Zither. There are also convolution impulses from a Roland SRE-555 and a Doepfer A-199 spring reverb. The Coolicon is a type of light shade that was used at the BBC in the 1960s. While recording at the Radiophonic Workshop, Delia Derbyshire discovered that they were rich in harmonic overtones, (similar to a Tibetan Prayer bowl or bell), analysed the frequencies, then recreated the sound with a collection of oscillators. We've used band pass filters to break the sound down into its different components - some tonal and some atonal - and then processed them through a variety of synth modules and effects. There are 40 patches in the Coolicon section and the demo track 'The Green Lamp' was made purely from these. The filters in our modular system include a cloned ARP 2600 by Analog Metropolis, a Buchla Low Pass Gate by Thomas White, a Blue Lantern Polivoks, Moog and TB303 types by Doepfer. Some sounds were also created by our ARP Odyssey and a toy zither. The main panel has controls for volume envelope and modulation, pitch mod and filter controls (only a couple of patches use the Kontakt filter, but it is here as a convenient method of quickly changing timbre). Binary Music Energy Bow Guitar KONTAKT | 753 Mb The Energy Bow Guitar library is an expressive Kontakt instrument made from recordings of a Fender American Standard Strat played with an Eâ??Bow. Sampled chromatically from a drop tuned D2 to A5. We fitted a Seymour Duncan Little '59 humbucker for extra sustain and everything was recorded cleanly through an Inward Connections Vac Rac 4000 pre-amp. 24 Bit/44.1kHz. Features include: Clean samples with three round-robins per note. 'Character' samples with three round-robins. These are still non-distorted samples, but feature the bow occasionally touching the strings and other performance blips and can be selected by a key switch. Harmonic samples with three round-robins. These were created with the E-Bow switch in the fundamental cancelling position and the modulation wheel can be used to crossfade into them. There are patches with these tuned to the same note (or octave) of the note played and natural patches, where the harmonic is as recorded - sometimes surprising! Release samples. Tempo syncable LFOs for vibrato and tremolo. Sample start offset. We've retained the natural attack of the strings beginning to vibrate, but starting later in the sample is useful for faster phrases. Binary Music ARP Odyssey KONTAKT | 490 Mb There were three main versions of the Odyssey. The first white-faced models were manufactured from 1972, then the black and gold face from 1974. The model that we've sampled is a black and orange faced 2821 from about 1979. This has the advantage of more stable oscillators - though nothing like the stability that we take for granted in modern gear. Throughout the entire sampling process, the aim has been to be faithful to the sound at source. No filtering or effects processing has been applied within Kontakt. Where there is filter/frequency modulation, it has been created on the Odyssey and then recorded in samples long enough to retain the movement. There's also a selection of 'Multi VCF' patches, where different filter cutoff settings have been sampled and mapped to different velocities. In total, there are 101 patches, made from over 1,400 samples. This small yet useful volume contains drum one-shots designed purely with analog synthesizers. Binary Music Energy Bow Guitar KONTAKT | 753 Mb The Energy Bow Guitar library is an expressive Kontakt instrument made from recordings of a Fender American Standard Strat played with an Eâ??Bow. Sampled chromatically from a drop tuned D2 to A5. We fitted a Seymour Duncan Little '59 humbucker for extra sustain and everything was recorded cleanly through an Inward Connections Vac Rac 4000 pre-amp. 24 Bit/44.1kHz. Features include: Clean samples with three round-robins per note. 'Character' samples with three round-robins. These are still non-distorted samples, but feature the bow occasionally touching the strings and other performance blips and can be selected by a key switch. Harmonic samples with three round-robins. These were created with the E-Bow switch in the fundamental cancelling position and the modulation wheel can be used to crossfade into them. There are patches with these tuned to the same note (or octave) of the note played and natural patches, where the harmonic is as recorded - sometimes surprising! Release samples. Tempo syncable LFOs for vibrato and tremolo. Sample start offset. We've retained the natural attack of the strings beginning to vibrate, but starting later in the sample is useful for faster phrases. This can be adjusted by a knob or by velocity. Binary Music ARP Odyssey KONTAKT | 490 Mb There were three main versions of the Odyssey. The first white-faced models were manufactured from 1972, then the black and gold face from 1974. The model that we've sampled is a black and orange faced 2821 from about 1979. This has the advantage of more stable oscillators - though nothing like the stability that we take for granted in modern gear. The Odyssey has attracted an eclectic mix of players: Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, George Duke, Portishead, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Gary Numan and Abba! Throughout the entire sampling process, the aim has been to be faithful to the sound at source. No filtering or effects processing has been applied within Kontakt. Where there is filter/frequency modulation, it has been created on the Odyssey and then recorded in samples long enough to retain the movement. There's also a selection of 'Multi VCF' patches, where different filter cutoff settings have been sampled and mapped to different velocities. Refractor Audio Transport KONTAKT | 3.67 Gb TRANSPORT marks the maiden voyage of Refractor Audio brought to you by Klayton (Celldweller) as it ascends to the stars. Blast off to the outer limits of sound design with a Kontakt Instrument that gives access to over 2000 unique samples created by Klayton in the Celldweller Spaceship. Transport plays loops in an unconventional and unpredictable manner. It is monophonic in the sense that it will only play one sample at a time, despite how many notes are played. However, at its core sits the ability to take a chosen set of loops and let the Probability Engine randomly jump between slices of those loops at varying rates, all synced to your DAW. Slice "in order" to ensure your kicks, snares, and other accents always land in logical spots, or "randomly" to allow the Probability Engine to make your patterns more unpredictable. After triggering one or more loops, create new variations using the 5 step sequencers which control volume, delay send, cutoff, pitch, and hold time. Sequence "in order" or "randomly" at a separate rate from the Probability Engine for constantly evolving rhythms that never repeat. Other features include keyswitch presets for changing patterns on the fly, keyswitch tuning which can be combined with the scale quantized pitch sequencer for arpeggios across different chords, a keyswitch slice repeater and stepper, velocity sensitivity, sustain pedal compatibility, and additional controls for each of the sequenced effects. Triggered, one-shot samples have not been forgotten in Transport, with over 600 sounds ranging from drums, to modular synth FX and cinematic impacts.
