Andante moderato IV. Allegro Einojuhani Rautavaara: Flute Concerto, Op. 69 "Dances with the Winds" (Revised Version) I. Andantino II. Vivace III. Andante moderato IV. Allegro On close to 40 discs, flautist Sharon Bezaly has impressed and delighted critics and listeners worldwide, earning the description 'God's gift to the flute'. Her wide-ranging discography naturally includes core repertoire, such as the concertos by Mozart, Nielsen, Rodrigo and Reinecke, but also a large number of works written especially for her. The works on the present disc owe their existence to two other flautists, however: Jean-Pierre Rampal, who transcribed Aram Khachaturian's violin concerto for his own instrument, and Gunilla von Bahr, for whom Einojuhani Rautavaara composed his 'Dances with the Winds' in 1974. Khachaturian wrote his concerto in 1940, dedicating it to David Oistrakh, who also gave the first performance. The composer always had a particular liking for the work, and when Rampal in 1968 asked him to compose a concerto for the flute, Khachaturian instead suggested that he should transcribe it. Rampal was given carte blanche when it came to making the necessary changes, and thus reworked the solo part completely. The orchestral score here performed by the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Enrique Diemecke was left unaltered, however. In a manner of speaking, Rautavaara's concerto is not a solo concerto, as it is written for all four instruments of the flute family. In the first and the last of the four movements the soloist plays the normal 'flauto grande' and the bass flute, while the second movement is written for piccolo and the third for alto flute. After completing the work, the composer made a revised version in which the most unusual of these instruments, the bass flute, was replaced by the alto flute. The present disc provides a unique opportunity to compare the two versions, as Sharon Bezaly includes both of them, supported by the Lahti Symphony Orchestra under Dima Slobodeniouk, the orchestra's new prin[beeep]l conductor. http://rapidgator.net/file/11601e979811d381bd53eece83bce028/SBFC.rar.html http://ssh.tf/ahVmxuHeD/SBFC.rar

Artist: Sharon Bezaly Title: Khachaturian & Rautavaara: Flute Concertos Year Of Release: 2016 Label: BIS Genre: Classical Quality: FLAC 24-bit Surround Sound 5.0 Total Time: 1:19:06 Total Size: 2.18 GB Tracklist: Khachaturian: Concerto for Flute and Orchestra I. Allegro con fermezza II. Andante sostenuto III. Allegro Vivace Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra Enrique Diemecke, conductor Rautavaara: Dances with the Winds, Op. 69 (Concerto for Flutes & Orchestra) I. Andantino II. Vivace III. Andante moderato IV. Allegro Lahti Symphony Orchestra Dima Slobodeniouk, conductor In 1968 the great French flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal asked Khachaturian for a flute concerto. It seems that the composer, realizing that his Violin Concerto might prove suitable, simply suggested to Rampal that he should transcribe the Violin Con - certo, giving him carte blanche when it came to making any necessary changes. The violin part was completely reworked by Rampal, so that the end result was not just playable but also sounded idiomatic on the flute. He thus chose to favour the spirit rather than the letter of the score at certain places. Rampal also suggested an en tirely 4 new cadenza in the first movement. The orchestral part, on the other hand, remained unaltered. Rautavaara's Flute Concerto is the result of a commission from Gunilla and Robert von Bahr, and was composed in 1973. Gunilla von Bahr gave the first performance in Stockholm on 4th May 1974, with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra con ducted by Stig Westerberg. The sub-title 'Dances with the Winds' was not added until 1996. The piece could be described as one of the most comprehensive ever written for the flute: in its original version, Rautavaara requires four different flutes to be used - piccolo, 'normal' flute, alto flute and bass flute. After completing the concerto, the composer revised the work in order to satisfy requests from flautists eager to perform it. In the resulting, more 'practical' version the sections involving the bass flute (in the first and the final movements) were rewritten for alto flute. The work has four separate movements. Despite the rapid development of nonstandard techniques since the 1950s, Rautavaara favours a traditional method of playing, avoiding 'effects' with the exception of flutter-tonguing (allowing the tip of the tongue to flutter rapidly, in order to produce an effect similar to tremolo). The writ ing is melodic, and the flute performs numerous arabesques that sound like descen dants of Debussy's Syrinx and Pr??lude ? l'apr?¨s-midi d'un faune. The har - monic language is modal - quasi Impressionist - and at times recalls Olivier Mes - siaen. The concerto also embraces the so-called 'perturbation' technique that has been one of the characteristics of Rautavaara's musical style since the 1970s: meditative thematic material is disturbed by dissonant jolts. http://rapidgator.net/file/df17fbd5a1ec1c371ec3a8f2c334d791/Flute_Concertos.part1.rar.html http://rapidgator.net/file/1a91e994ed600eaf47a77b552e9faf6c/Flute_Concertos.part2.rar.html http://rapidgator.net/file/bedfe2fc4580284326d954d14f2beca1/Flute_Concertos.part3.rar.html http://ssh.tf/ClRD6BbHM/Flute_Concertos.part1.rar http://ssh.tf/RpW19NsHM/Flute_Concertos.part2.rar http://ssh.tf/u7YceHWHM/Flute_Concertos.part3.rar http://uploaded.net/file/zqwy0a8m/Flute_Concertos.part1.rar http://uploaded.net/file/lty3robc/Flute_Concertos.part2.rar http://uploaded.net/file/cbvj5qd3/Flute_Concertos.part3.rar
