Over the last few years, 38 years old Risager has established a name for himself as vocalist, guitarist and composer of international class. Nature has endowed him with an extraordinary powerful and expressive voice, and with his charismatic performance, soft hat on his head, well-played guitar over his shoulder and a top-tuned, tight band behind him, he has definitely made his mark. The style is still Rhythm'n'Blues, but as the new CD clearly demonstrates, the band competently masters a broad and varied menu of traditional Chicago blues, soul, funk and jazz along with some spicy New Orleans rhythms. Influences from some of Thorbjorn's great idols, Ray Charles and B B King, can't be dismissed, but with his unmistakable talent as composer, Risager has since the band's start in 2002 developed his very own personal and unique style. The 11 tracks of this new live CD have been hand-picked from two concert nights at Victoria in Malmo, Sweden, in October 2008. They came out of??â??Â? well not exactly nowhere, but from the local Copenhagen blues scene, and with the help of their previous live-CD, recorded straight up-and-down in a local club, they catapulted themselves out into the international blues world. From May until Oct 2006 they are booked at festivals and clubs in eight countries, and this is only the beginning. Only the future will tell how far they will reach ??â??Â? This is an extraordinary group in many ways. Their charismatic vocalist Thorbj??¸rn Risager has earned a reputation as one of Denmark's best singers, with an exceptional bluesy and soulful voice. He is also an outstanding song writer, and his powerful guitar fills balance his song phrases perfectly. Just like the rest of his musicians, he delivers solos on a high level, dynamic and full of nerve and presence. This is not an ordinary blues band, since a large portion of their repertoire is classic, New Orleans flavoured 1950's and 60's R&B - although most of it is written by Thorbj??¸rn, alone or with somebody in the band. But it??â??â??s definitely not an ordinary R&B-band either!
