  1. Artist: Curtis Salgado Title: Clean Getaway Year Of Release: 2008 Label: Shanachie Genre: Blues, Modern Electric Blues, Blues Soul Quality: Mp3 320 kbps/APE Total Time: 50:13 Total Size: 126/354 Mb (covers) Tracklist: 01. Clean Getaway 02. Both Sorry Over Nothin' 03. Who's Lovin' You 04. My Confessions 05. What's Up With That 06. Alone 07. I Don't Want To Discuss It 08. 20 Years Of B.B. King 09. Heartache 10. Let's Get Married 11. Drivin' In The Drivin' Rain 12. Bottle Of Red Wine Call this the album that almost never was. In 2006 Curtis Salgado was diagnosed with liver cancer and given eight months to live unless he underwent a half-million-dollar operation. The money was raised from benefits by friends of Salgado such as Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Steve Miller, and Taj Mahal, and donations from fans. After the successful transplant, the cancer spread to his lungs, requiring yet another operation. On his first post-cancer release, anyone not knowing what he went through would be astonished that he could come out of the ordeal sounding this healthy. Salgado enlisted members of the Phantom Blues Band and drummer/producer Tony Braunagel to handle the backing, and the combination is a natural extension of the soul-blues stew the singer/harpist has been cooking up since his first solo album in 1991. It takes confidence in your vocal abilities to cover tunes sung by Smokey Robinson ("Who's Lovin' You"), Al Green ("Let's Get Married"), and Little Richard ("I Don't Want to Discuss It"), but Salgado is up to the challenge and turns in striking performances that do justice to -- or, in the case of the Robinson tune, improve on -- the originals. Elsewhere, Salgado wades in the rocking swamp blues of "Heartache," shifts into Johnny "Guitar" Watson funk-soul mode for the title track, and heads to Memphis for the Hi-styled "Drivin' in the Drivin' Rain," the latter one of four originals co-written by Salgado. There's more than a little Delbert McClinton to his raspy voice, which he uses to terrific effect on the moody, obsessive "My Confessions." The rollicking Clapton tune "Bottle of Red Wine" is a perfect vehicle for Salgado's soul shake, and gives him a chance to blow some tough harp. Blues looms large in his catalog of influences, and Salgado pays tribute to one of the genre's icons in "20 Years of B.B. King" with lyrics comprised predominantly of King song titles. It sounds corny, but he pulls it off due to his obvious sincerity and by playing it straight. The connection with the Phantom Blues Band is both natural and inspired as they lay into this material but never steal the spotlight from Salgado, who sounds enthused and, well, glad to be alive. Comebacks don't get much sweeter.(Review by Hal Horowitz) http://rapidgator.net/file/541fe1f578fa868119da784093a7725a/cscg.rar.html http://ssh.tf/CD2xLcuXS/cscg.rar https://bytewhale.com/uwmzznd8tdw1/cscg.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/2b1423cdcc8e33bc69400fbb5c776b2c/csandcg.rar.html http://ssh.tf/Ge7RcWBXS/csandcg.rar https://bytewhale.com/129sh383m6ve/csandcg.rar
  2. Antonio Hill - The Good Suicides : A Thriller (Inspector H??ctor Salgado #2) Unabridged AudioBook | 2014 | Genre: Mystery | English | ISBN-13: 9780770435905 | MP3 64Kb | Length: 11 hrs and 22 mins | 312.48 MB Inspector Hector Salgado, the salty hero of The Summer of Dead Toys, returns in another crime thriller set in Barcelona during a cold snap. Senior staff at Alemany Cosmetics come home with a secret after a team-building retreat in a remote country house. Each has anonymously received a photo showing dogs hanging dead from a tree near the farm. Now they're committing suicide, one by one. The connection between the gut-wrenching photos and heartbreaking suicides remains a befuddling mystery -- one that racks Barcelona's executive think tanks, and could lead to a frightening end. De[beeep]hering the personalitites of these youthful executives and their power structures isn't easy, but Inspector Salgado has his own ways of making them speak. Meanwhile, Barcelona is freezing, suffering from an unusual cold spell and Salgado's wife, Ruth, is still missing. Salgado must break through the icily furtive layers of this young group in order to save his family, his reputation, and his city.
