Originally published in 2009 as part of the Tonehammer Gnomehammer v1 collection by Tonehammer, vast amounts of helium were inhaled by our performers in order to record this library. Soundiron Bronze Bin [KONTAKT] | 147 Mb Bronze Bin is a unique tuned and untuned metallic percussion instrument library, created using a common found object with a rather special tonal character. Bronze is the most popular metal used to create top-quality musical bells and cymbals.So, when we came across this little refuse receptacle of pure brazen bronze, we thought 'What a waste!' Not in the waste-basket sense of the word, but a waste of musical potential. Every edge, curve, face and angle of this bronze beauty creates amazingly complex and unique sounds, full of harmonics, overtones and even undertones. In much the same way art and practicality intersect in the conventional use of this bin, so do percussion and melody intersect creating an enormous palette from a single source. Producing soft bell-like tones to a raspy wash of colliding frequencies the Soundiron Bronze Bin is a truly unique tuned percussion instrument. We recorded a variety of tuned and untuned percussion elements using fingers, mallets, and sticks, to bring out the full musicality of this improvised instrument. All of the subtle resonance and harmonic nuances were captured in detail using a wide stereo pair of studio mics. We then designed a whole collection of custom ambiences, drones, pads, effects and other special presets to take it a step further. Soundiron - SFX Subways and Street Cars [KONTAKT] | 2.94 Gb Subways & Streetcars is a professional sound library featuring the sounds and environmentals of a modern major metropolitan transit line and 3 different vintage early 20th century electric passenger streetcars. This 4.38 GB library is built for sound designers, as well as musicians and composers looking for fresh sonic ideas to explore and manipulate.The sounds are standard wav files that can be used in any audio program and you'll find each wav clearly named and organized to make searching a breeze. The Kontakt presets take it a step further and put all of that excellent content into an easy plug-and-play interface, whether you're using it for music creation or pure sound design. The modern high speed Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train system is located throughout the greater San Francisco Bay region. We recorded all 3 car models (Type A, B and C cars), capturing a variety of underground and surface lines, riding at various speeds, track conditions and passenger densities. You'll also find authentic environmental ambiences in and around a variety of stations. We also recorded a classic urban metro rail unit from the Key System, an urban streetcar network that once served Oakland, CA and the San Francisco East Bay until the late 1950s. The third streetcar type is an Interurban Combine from the Petaluma-Santa Rosa Railroad. This combination passenger/freight unit served as a link between communities around Marin County at the turn of the 20th century until the mid 1930s. The last streetcar in this collection is a metropolitan single-car tram from the 1930s, most likely originally used in Melbourne, Australia. We've also designed 35 distinct dark, dystopian rail atmospheres, pads and evolving drones. They provide stylistically compatible moods and textures to the source content and are excellent on their own, when used in any context. This library includes a convenient CSV file for easy import into many common sound library database tools. Soundiron Steel Tones - KONTAKT | 1.43 Gb Steel Tones is a multi-sampled metallic tuned percussion instrument library for Kontakt that captures the essence of a Hapi Drum. Built by Hapi Tones, the Hapi Drum is a hollow steel-chambered acoustic instrument measuring 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep (30cm x 20cm). It's in the family of steel tongue drums, also known as tank drums or hank drums. The concept was originally pioneered by Dennis Havlena in 2007 and has evolved into various forms by numerous instrument makers. Our particular model has 8 tongues tuned to a D-major pentatonic scale. Each note has a strong fundamental tone wrapped in a haze of complex overtones and harmonics and a long, very mellow sustain. Generally you'll see the white cube playing a rudimentary spin cycle beat behind a mediocre guitarist who is only vaguely aware of the naturally occurring music which is constantly present in our modern human environment. The washing machine will play this beat dutifully, knowing that it isn't respected for musical talent like its ancestor the washboard. We spend so much less time with the modern washing machine, than the folks of previous generations did with the washboard, that we've become coldly detached from it. The washing machine happily does all the work, never complaining, and still we complain about laundry day. If we just took a little time to talk to our washing machines we may find out that they are treasure troves of musical potential. The broad variety percussion instruments we've given you represent a fair cross-section of the breadth of its acoustic capabilities, with everything from soft, gong-like, harsh, warbly, trashy, tight, muted, dreamy, bassy, to warm and sweet tones. We also bowed various edges and surfaces to produce strong resonant metallic and screeching tones as well. We've also included a huge range of of our signature multilayered special effects, drones and ambient soundscapes, with advanced tone-shaping and FX control features. The myriad sounds and textures must simply be heard to be believed. Last, but not least, we figured we had to go the distance and cover a wide range of traditional washing machine sound effects from a full wash cycle, recording up close in wide stereo. I don't know about your washing machine, but ours from the freakin' future. You could pretty much do up the sound design for an entire sci-fi film with this puppy alone.
