A feeling persists throughout this album that if this group had delivered this set before a rowdy crowd in some beery backwoods dive, results would have been far more persuasive. Banks' solo breaks take off with elegance, cheerful lyricism (Ceora, September Song) and understated bluesiness (Blue And Sentimental) when he's not playing the perfect foil to Perry's fluid melodies.
