Complete DVD Set of the Taijutsu Fundamentals taught at the Jinenkan Yasuragi Dojo in New York.

These videos were approved by Manaka Unsui Sensei and were made available for the students of the Yasuragi Dojo and the students of chief instructor Adam Mitchell. Each DVD offers over an hour of instruction in each DVD.

 

DVD 1

VOLUME I DAKEN covers the essential exercises trained at the Jinenkan Yasuragi Dojo to prepare students for powerful striking technique. This informative and professionally mastered DVD details techniques, conditioning methods and exercises for striking accuracy to help the student become highly proficient at striking and receiving. Each technique is detailed by high quality narration, multiple angles of the technique and slow motion repeats. Topics include posture, conditioning, striking basics, blocking basics, kicking and receiving kicks as well as traditional training patterns.

 

DVD 2

VOLUME II TORITE is the second part of a four part DVD set, professionally mastered and produced by Adam Mitchell, Dojo Cho of the Jinenkan Yasuragi Dojo in New York. This Volume will introduce the student to methods escape, counter and come-along. A fast paced DVD, Volume II offers an overwhelming amount of highly-detailed, step-by-step information for stand-up grappling and reversal techniques. Each technique is detailed by high quality narration, multiple angles of the technique and slow motion repeats. Topics include traditional training patterns, grip breaks, body choke breaks and a demonstration of how these techniques are employed in classical forms.

 

DVD 3

Volume III KUMITE is essential for all students of our Dojo. There are few instructional videos that are available offering the amount of detailed information as found here. In Volume III, students are introduced to the correct methods of receiving takedowns, evading and countering attacks with break-fall and rolling. The characteristic body movements of Ninpo Taijutsu will then be covered such as leaping in all directions, in and out of rolls and dives. Students will then be taken through the many throwing, takedown and reversal exercises taught at Jinenkan Yasuragi Dojo as a student prepares for ranking up through the Shodan level.

 

DVD 4

VOLUME IV SHIMETE is a ground pounding must have! In 2002 Manaka Unsui Sensei presented a workshop in Ossining, New York on Newaza. With so much information taught by Sensei, his final instruction was to train the kihon (basics) as you do standing, also on the ground. On Volume IV we have followed Sensei's directions for the past five years and this video is a compilation of hundreds of training hours on the ground. While not a video that details ranking standards or curricula taught in the Jinenkan syllabus, this video presents methods for conditioning the body to move on the ground, rolling, basic reversals and an expression of the Kihon Happo trained from the conventional guard position. Never before has this material been presented in such a concise and informative way.
