Avec l'ensemble am??ricain Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, la violoniste moldave Patricia Kopatchinskaja - qui vit toujours l'interpr??tation comme une recr??ation - met en sc?¨ne dans ce programme sa propre m??ditation musicale sur la mort. Allusions pour la plupart ?  la danse macabre m??di??vale, des pi?¨ces de Dowland, N??rmiger, Gesualdo, Kurt??g et Schubert servent d'interludes entre les mouvements du Quatuor schubertien entendu ici dans le propre arrangement pour orchestre de la violoniste. Malgr?? la diversit?? d'origine et de style de ces pages, les musiciens ont su en faire un tout coh??rent qui n'est pas sans valeur. Quant au Quatuor "La jeune fille et la mort", en voil?  une vision nouvelle o?? la th????tralit?? et les contrastes accus??s pour mieux exprimer les sentiments de peur, col?¨re, d??sir et d??sespoir prennent le pas sur l'??criture schubertienne dans les moments o?? celle-ci n'est que subtilit??, magie et transparence. Force-t-elle le trait ? Qu'on en juge comme l'on veut, mais on ne pourra en tout cas retirer ?  Patricia Kopatchinskaja son engagement, son intensit?? et son inventivit??.
