Very importantly, touch releases a hormone called oxytocin, a natural antidote to stress for both child and parent. Touch comes naturally and is a way for you to learn about each other. Learning massage enriches the parent/child bond and establishes a tradition of touch that will enhance your relationship with your child for years to come. Touch is a basic human need - there is nothing quite so personal and intimate.What makes this course STAND OUT... It includes 16 videos, divided in sections of the body or per issue of interest, for easy viewing and access. You can also download the instruction cards and have them by your side at any time. The techniques learned here are useful at any point, to help alleviate discomfort, help with colic and indigestion, promote sleep, increase mobility, and soothe cold symptoms and congestion. EXTRA - Included is a complete Child massage adapted to help with Hyperactivity and increase feelings of relaxation and peace, at any time.I massage a doll in 14 of the instructional videos so there are minimal distractions for you while you are learning. As you see in the videos, you can place baby in front of you on the floor or on a secure surface so you can sit down or stand, as long as you are comfortable. You can remove the clothing on the area you are massaging or massage over the clothing as well. If the clothing is removed, you can use oil to massage. Oils I like to use are coconut, almond, or sesame oil. Heat up your oil by placing a plastic bottle in some warm water (it feels so nice on the skin when the oil is warm). You can also place baby on a warm blanket with a pillow under their legs. Diffuse essential oils in a diffuser nearby or place a drop on your arms as you massage. Don't forget to move your body too - move your center of gravity (lower back) rock with the massage.
