Us (3:28) After establishing herself as one to watch with debut LP, Ett, Editions Mego's brightest young artist, Klara Lewis, follows extensive touring since that 2014 release with the deeply focussed, multi-dimensional sound designs of Too. It's no secret that Klara is Graham Lewis ov Wire's daughter, and therefore not difficult to draw a line between her investigations of laptop-as-loom for creating vast, enveloping tapestries of field recordings and electro-acoustic process, and her dad's exploratory, studio-as-instrument work with Dome in the early '80s. Klara clearly has a keen ear attuned to the nuance of texture, tone, and spatial dynamic within electronic and organic spheres, underpinned with a rhythmic subtlety that integral yet not overbearing within Too. She finds a democracy of sound within the mix giving equal attention to all parts of the stereo field, from the whirring micro-organisms of View thru the whisked rhythmic torsion and distant bird calls of Twist, or the loping freedom of trip hop and avant-classical movement in Too. Yet, from initial listens our favourite parts occur with the vast, drifting sense of scale rent from multiplying sound sources in Beaming and the very canny sleight-of-hand applied to the near-collapsing rhythms and vaulted dream dimensions of Us. http://rapidgator.net/file/757fa3b6efc06e3c3f888e536f6dc1fc/Too.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/jmKjxkqSp/Too.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/226t1n2j/Too.rar

Let Love In (Live) ( 7:53) Energetic and Dynamic Soulful Blues/Rock from Glasgow. Winners of 'Best Band' and 'Best Album' in The British Blues Awards 2012 and 2014. King King are on a roll. Faced with their army of fans and armfuls of awards, it's hard to believe that Alan Nimmo (vocals/guitar), Lindsay Coulson (bass), Wayne Proctor (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keys) have come so far, so fast. As Henry Yates of Classic Rock Blues notes, "King King are the hottest draw in British blues-rock". Yet there's no smoke and mirrors behind their five-year rise: just killer songs, performed with true passion, by a fist-tight lineup. Right now, the Glasgow band stand on the brink of their busiest period to date. Fresh from the studio, there's the hotly anti[beeep]ted third album, due Spring 2015. On the road, there's the 34-date UK tour with John Mayall in October 2014, followed by a run of British headline dates next Spring, with plans afoot for wider touring in France, Germany, Scandinavia, and beyond. In short, there's no time for group backslaps, even as King King approach the end of a truly vintage year. As a measure of the band's status, consider their five victories at the 2014 British Blues Awards, not least 'Best Band' (for a third consecutive year) and 'Best Album' for 2013's 'Standing In The Shadows'. Add to that, the inclusion of Shadows in both the Classic Rock Blues Mag's Top 50 Albums of 2013, and Paul Jones' BBC Radio 2 end-of-year countdown (the only British album in the running), and it's raining statuettes. Media plaudits are always welcome, but perhaps the most tangible evidence that King King are doing something right are the audiences who roared them to the rafters throughout 2014. While their records were spinning on stereos across the world, King King's tourbus wheels were doing the same, as the band took the international language of blues-rock to fans in France, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and Germany (not to mention a set at the Crossroads Festival, filmed for the legendary music TV show Rockpalast). Nice planet. They'll take it. It's quite a coup, in an era when we're told that honest, dues-paying rock 'n' roll is on the ropes. But then, ever since their live debut shook the Monaghan Blues Festival back in 2010, it was obvious there was something special about King King. Of course, Alan was already a familiar face on the international blues circuit - having made his name with The Nimmo Brothers - while Lindsay, Wayne and original keys man Bennett Holland were all first-choice musicians with pedigree and past-form. Yet critically, whereas many talented lineups become a tug-of-war between egos, King King soon hit on a winning dynamic, with Alan and Lindsay co-writing the original material and proving their studio alchemy with 2011's debut album, 'Take My Hand'. Dubbed "tremendous. terrific" by Maverick Magazine, crowned Blues Album of the Month in Classic Rock, and ultimately scoring the band's first British Blues Award for 'Best Album', it was one hell of an opening gambit - only topped by the release of Standing In The Shadows in March 2013. While lesser bands complain of 'difficult second album syndrome', this was a follow-up that bottled King King's jaw-breaking live power, while underlining Alan and Lindsay's evolving writing partnership on tracks from the tough 'More Than I Can Take' to the tender 'A Long History Of Love'. The Classic Rock Blues Mag deemed it "a sure-fire hit", and they were proved right, with demand for King King pulling the new lineup - now bolstered by Bob's astonishing prowess on keys and organ - from Eastern Europe to Canada, for house-rocking sets that included the Ottawa and Mont Tremblant Blues Fests and a live appearance on Canadian breakfast TV show Canada AM. With King King, the soundbites and statistics only tell half the story. For conclusive proof of this band's brilliance, you need only play the music. In 2015, Alan, Lindsay, Wayne and Bob will be pulling the trigger on a stunning new studio album, and launching into a continent-hopping tour schedule that means there's never been a better time to experience their magic from the front row. King King are moving fast. Catch them if you can. http://rapidgator.net/file/47ad51d992bc2f76b7e3782072046808/KingKingLive2016.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/SmIFS1wlp/KingKingLive2016.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/bmnkq5v4/KingKingLive2016.rar
  8. Artist: Kim Carnes Title: Voyeur Year Of Release: 2012-10-30 (1982) Label: Culture Factory (USA) Genre: Pop/Rock, Electronic, Synth-pop Quality: FLAC (tracks+.cue+.log) Total Time: 41:12 Total Size: 332,08 133,14 Mb (Full Scans) Voyeur was Kim Carnes' 1982 follow-up after the huge success of Mistaken Identity. While Voyeur didn't produce mega radio hits, songs like the title track and "Merc Man" showcase her distinctive, raspy vocals to fine effect. Voyeur is a synthpop album which Carnes described as "more consistent" than its predecessor. It received mixed reviews, with some critics in favour of the album while others remarked that it failed to live up to the standard of Mistaken Identity. ~Wikipedia~ The problem with success is following it, of course, and Kim Carnes had a very difficult time doing that after "Bette Davis Eyes" and its accompanying album, Mistaken Identity, rocketed to number one overnight in 1981. Voyeur, her follow-up, appeared that following September, and it was expected to be a blockbuster, not just by her label, EMI, but from many industry observers as well. How could it not? She had a huge hit underneath her belt and the new album followed the pattern of the hit - sleek, stylish post-new wave pop/rock, heavy on drum machines, sequenced synths, and arena rock guitars, all married to anthemic pop tunes and ballads. It seemed tailor-made for hit status, but it stalled on the charts. This was a shocking performance for an artist that seemed poised for superstar status, and it's hard to say exactly why the record didn't do as well. Yes, Voyeur doesn't have anything as brilliant as "Bette Davis Eyes" on it, nor is it as even as Mistaken Identity, but it truly does follow the formula effectively, and there are moments, like "Merc Man," that seem ready for the radio. But it was not to be, probably because of the shifting tastes of the American public. The album itself got lost in the emergence of MTV and the accompanying surge of popularity of new wave. And so, the album didn't burn up the charts, but as a piece of music, it was certainly a worthy follow-up to Mistaken Identity. ~Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine~ Release of the album: 1982, September [LP EMI America, Cat.# SO-17078, USA] Release of this CD: 2012, October, 30 [CD Culture Factory (USA), Cat.# 850703003019 / EAN: 850703003019] (p)© 1982 EMI America Records, a division of Capital Records, LLC. 11. Artist: Kiku Collins Title: Red Light Year Of Release: 2011 Label: Canopy Jazz Genre: Jazz / Smooth Jazz Quality: FLAC (image) / MP3 Total Time: 46:42 min Total Size: 300 MB / 110 MB Tracklist: 01. Tani Trentlyon) [01:26] Personnel: Kiku Collins - Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Valve Trombone, Vocals; Xavier Davis - Piano; Hendrik Helmer - Guitar; Alex Alexander - Drums, Percussion; Malcolm Gold - Bass. Special Quests: Michael Lington - Sax; Al Chez - Trumpet; David Gibson - Trombone; Layla Angulo - Sax; Elizabeth! - Trombone, Tuba; Joe Exley - Tuba; Greg Clark - Vocals; Tani Trentlyon - Vocals; Francesco Guaiana - Guitar; Luca Lo Bianco - Bass; Massimo D'aleo - Drums. According to the Jazz Journal International, Kiku Collins "plays the trumpet like a twenty-first century Miles Davis". Her trumpet skills were on full display during her time with iconic artists Beyonce and Michael Bolton and many other A-list performers, but with her sophomore album "Red Light", Ms. Collins flexes her composer/producer/bandleader muscles with plenty of melody and groove. Kiku Collins is the kind of trumpeter you don't forget. Not only does she have a sweet, dark tone, but her ideas are musical, and this album is danceable, with an R&B flavor. You will want to play this music in your car, or when on a date, time and time again. Kiku is souful in the finest sense of the word, and with "Red Light" she has collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the business to bring a unique sound. The driving big-band sound of the first track soon gives way to a pleasing set of grooves that are sure to delight you and have you tapping your foot to the music. Kiku plays Getzen trumpets and it is clear to see why she has been sponsored by Getzen, as she evokes deep emotional currents with her tasteful soloing style, while keeping it light and danceable when the song calls for it. This CD is highly recommended, and is sure to yield many hours of listening pleasure. The production values on the CD are also excellent, and if that were not enough, the cover art clearly marks Kiku as one of the best looking trumpeters in the business. It will be exciting to see what we will hear from this artist in the future, as she is off to an excellent start with this album, her second CD effort. Five Stars! ~ Glendon M. Clearly inspired by futurist daydreams of deep space exploration, it sees Wilkinson laying down an octet of sparkling, melodious tunes packed full of sparkling analogue synthesizer melodies, chugging, Italo-disco style arpeggio grooves, and alien-friendly kosmiche electronics. It feels a little like a more stylized, Italian influenced take on Vangelis' famous Blade Runner soundtrack, but that's no bad thing. If Italo-disco is your thing, you really need this in your life. http://rapidgator.net/file/c8e3e300ac1c2c9c76be0b56afedd7e0/Kid_Machine_-_Space_Elite_2016.zip.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/lM5uJA2lp/Kid_Machine_-_Space_Elite_2016.zip ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/oohu3d4v/Kid_Machine_-_Space_Elite_2016.zip
  14. Artist: Keyon Harrold Title: Introducing Keyon Harrold Year Of Release: 2009 Label: Criss Cross Jazz Genre: Jazz Quality: FLAC (tracks) / MP3 Total Time: 58:25 min Total Size: 366 MB / 133 MB Tracklist: 1. TMF Nuttz [07:27] 2. Sudden Inspiration [07:18] 3. Shirley's Blues [08:00] 4. Keyon Beyond [06:35] 5. Amazing Grace/Lord My God [06:42] 6. Peace [07:57] 7. Hip Hop Joint [07:38] 8. The Awakening [07:15] Keyon Harrold comes to jazz and pop from his home in St. Louis, and at age 28 presents his debut recording of straight-ahead modern mainstream music in the typical Criss Cross label tradition. He's not carved in the mold of hometown icon Miles Davis, but has some of the bold technique of Freddie Hubbard and fluidity of Lee Morgan, while stylistically within the neo-bop range of Wynton Marsalis or Tom Harrell. Harrold has played with the Count Basie and Roy Hargrove big bands and as a sideman with Billy Harper, and has worked with Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles, and Snoop Dogg, among others, so he knows the twentysomething audience as well as grown-up purist jazz listeners. Brothers Marcus Strickland (saxes) and E.J. Strickland (drums) support Harrold, along with the fabulous young pianist Danny Grissett and bassist Derzon Douglas. As you'd expect, Harrold is an accomplished player with both youth and experience on his side, but also uses different arenas of modern jazz as a composer. His opener, "TMF Nuttz," is a Marsalis-type angular bop-strewn swinger powered by Grissett's two-fisted chords and a ripe solo by the brassman, and features Harrold's mentor, fellow trumpeter Charles Tolliver. The chunkier melody of "The Awakening" takes into account a blues aspect that identifies Harrell's pure tuneful sound, while an atypical version of Horace Silver's "Peace" is stewed in a light Brazilian broth with guitarist Jeremy Most added on in an interpretation quite different from the pensive, balladic original. Grissett is fond of switching to the electric Fender Rhodes piano, adding more of a retro feel to the funky boogaloo strains of "Shirley's Blues" and the 4/4 bounce during "Hip Hop Joint," with Harrold's muted horn alongside Marcus Strickland's solid tenor sax. In reference to his deep St. Louis gospel roots, "Amazing Grace"/"Lord, My God" is fairly typical in the main, but Marcus Strickland's soprano sax adds brighter color to the combo piece. These are all very good and well for what one might expect, but "Sudden Inspiration" stands out in its easy swing stance offset by staggered phrasings that jump out, where "Keyon Beyond" more perfectly envisions the duality of clockwork beats with a hip-hop sway that made Ahmad Jamal's "Poinciana" a seminal reference point for current music in the urban collective. Certainly this is a credible first effort, as Harrold only scratches the surface of his potential, and though somewhat derivative of past predecessors, it bodes well for his bright future alongside Jeremy Pelt, Sean Jones, and Ambrose Akinmusire as the leading jazz trumpet players of a new generation. -- Michael G. The Thrill Has Gone 2. I Just Thought I had The Blues 3. Blues In A Bottle 4. Two Headed Man 5. Ain't Holding My Breath 6. I Don't Believe 7. Long Way Home 8. Ain't Nobody's Business 9. The Strut 10. Holy Water Out Of The Blue was put together in 1994 by singer, guitarist and songwriter Kevin Thorpe to fulfil a one-off gig at the Colne Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival. They received such a rapturous audience reception that they decided to stick around. Out Of The Blue respect the blues tradition but they like to stretch the outside of the envelope. They looked beyond the tried and tested 12 bar formula to create a modern, thoroughly original sound that fuses jazz, rock and of course blues. Whichever way you chew it, their music, with Kevin Thorpe's gravel and grit vocals, definitely comes from the heart to stir the soul. Lead guitarist Eddie Tatton (Nightmares on Wax, Zero 7) is one of the hippest guitar players on the scene today, his inventiveness never ceases to amaze. Eddie's solos push back the boundaries of electric blues guitar, his unique style melding the poise of Robben Ford, with the grace of Larry Carlton to bring an unparalleled sophistication to Out Of The Blues' overall ensemble sound. In addition Out Of The Blue have the very gifted keyboard player Johnny Dyke (Elkie Brooks Band, Patricia Kas, Larry Garner Band) and a dynamic rhythm section with Nigel Lobley on drums and Simon Sparks on bass, making them for the discerning blues punter, the most rewarding live aesthetic experience available. - Scott Duncan, Blues in Britain Magazine http://rapidgator.net/file/73b3ed4867508ff60ea0dd10cef3ef1d/ktootbbiab.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/gySlXfNTp/ktootbbiab.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/dj4iby0c/ktootbbiab.rar

  19. Artist: Kenny Wheeler & The Colours Jazz Orchestra Title: Nineteen Plus One Year Of Release: 2009 Label: Orpheus Genre: Jazz Quality: Mp3 / 320kbps Total Time: 68:32 min Total Size: 157 MB Tracklist ---------- 01. Only the Lonely 02. All or Nothing at All 03. How Deep Is the Ocean 04. Stella by Starlight 05. I Should Care 06. When Your Lover Has Gone 07. The Man I Love 08. W.W. Following Kenny Wheeler's career can be a knotty proposition. Born in Canada, the trumpeter/composer relocated to Britain in the 1950s, becoming an integral part of its jazz scene. He recorded for Germany's ECM Records for over two decades, including the classic Gnu High (1976) in addition to his Azimuth collaborations with pianist John Taylor and singer Norma Winstone. More recently shifting his affiliation to Italian labels including EGEA and CAM Jazz, he's focused largely on small groups, though he's made a handful of albums for larger ensembles, including Music for Large & Small Ensembles (ECM, 1990). Regardless of context, the emphasis has always been on his own inimitable writing, making Nineteen Plus One a distinct entry in his discography. Collaborating with Italy's brass-heavy Colours Orchestra, Wheeler brings his densely modernistic harmonic approach to rearrangements of seven standards. From the brief fanfare of "Only the Lonely" to the more expansive "All or Nothing at All," "How Deep is the Ocean" and "When Your Love Has Gone" all exceeding ten minutes, with plenty of solo space for the Orchestra as well as Wheeler it's no surprise that, despite an unfailing allegiance to the essence of these enduring songs, they sound as if Wheeler wrote them in the first place. As if to hammer that point home, the disc ends with Wheeler's sole original "W.W.," from Wheeler's quintet date Double, Double You (ECM, 1984) and later reworked for larger ensembles including Finland's UMO Jazz Orchestra on One More Time (Challenge, 2000). Contrasting UMO's more left-of-center disposition, Colours is a warmer, more centrist affair, swinging amiably through this and all of Wheeler's charts, with singer Diana Torto capably handling Wheeler's melody lines, originally written for Winstone, with equal aplomb. Wheeler's writing possess a characteristic melancholy; joining this one original with his standards arrangements further clarifies the distinctive touch found in anything on which he lays his hands. Saying that Wheeler's playing remains strong for a man in his eighties would be unfair; surrounded by a group of fine players including conductor Massimo Morganti, who puts his baton aside for a concise, plangent trombone solo on "How Deep is the Ocean" Wheeler's ability to weave lyrical lines with brief intervallic leaps into the stratosphere remains a stylistic touchstone few players half his age can match. Torto's lyric interpretations reference Winstone's less-is-more approach, though she demonstrates greater extremes in the thrilling duet with drummer Massimo Manzi that closes "W.W." Guitarist Luca Pecchia receives a moment in the spotlight during the intro to "I Should Care," solely supporting Torto before the ensemble enters to paint a broader palette, which in turn bolsters the guitarist's lithe solo and a particularly fluid feature from Wheeler. The material may be familiar, but the interpretations are completely fresh. Winstone's assertion that Wheeler is "the Duke Ellington of our times" is borne out by Nineteen Plus One. Few musicians alive can be recognized for their charts after just a few notes, or are as capable of making material recorded thousands of times their own within the space of a few short bars. ~ John Kelman https://www.allaboutjazz.com/nineteen-plus-one-kenny-wheeler-astarte-records-review-by-john-kelman.php Personnel: Kenny Wheeler: trumpet, flugelhorn; Diana Torto: voice; Massimo Morganti: conductor, trombone solo (3); Simone La Maida: alto and soprano saxophones; Maurizio Moscatelli: alto saxophone; Filippo Sebastianelli: tenor saxophone; Enrico Benvenuti: tenor saxophone; Marco Postacchini: baritone saxophone; Giorgio Caselli: trumpet and flugelhorn; Luigi Faggi Grigioni: trumpet and flugelhorn; Giacomo Uncini: trumpet and flugelhorn; Samuele Garofole: trumpet and flugelhorn; Mauro Ottolini: trombone; Tony Cattano: trombone; Luca Pernici: trombone; Pierluigi Bastioli: bass trombone; Luca Pecchia: guitar; Emilio Marinelli: piano; Gabriele Pesaresi: bass; Massimo Manzi: drums. http://rapidgator.net/file/37cf3aa291043ef6cc0118b1c3e3696e/KennyWheelerNineteenPlus.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/se6YqB4lp/KennyWheelerNineteenPlus.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/8zwl1uqx/KennyWheelerNineteenPlus.rar

Shotgun Blues (Live) (4:28) Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his group exploded on the scene in the mid-'90s and garnered huge amounts of radio airplay on commercial radio, which historically has not been a solid home for blues and blues-rock music, with the exception of Stevie Ray Vaughan in the mid-'80s. Shepherd was born June 12, 1977, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Shreveport native began playing at age seven, figuring out Muddy Waters licks from his father's record collection (he has never taken a formal lesson). At age 13, he was invited on-stage by New Orleans bluesman Brian Lee and held his own for several hours; thus proving himself, he decided on music as a career. He formed his own band, which featured lead vocalist Corey Sterling, gaining early exposure through club dates and, later, radio conventions. Shepherd's father/manager used his own contacts and pizzazz in the record business to help land his son a major-label record deal with Irving Azoff's Giant Records. Ledbetter Heights, his first album, was released two years later in 1995 and was an immediate hit, selling over 500,000 copies by early 1996. Most blues records never achieve that level of commercial success, much less ones released by artists who are still in their teens. Although Shepherd -- who has been influenced by (and has sometimes played with) guitarists Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Slash, Robert Cray, and Duane Allman -- is definitely a performer who thrives in front of an audience, Ledbetter Heights was impressive for its range of styles: acoustic blues, rockin' blues, Texas blues, Louisiana blues. The only style that he doesn't tackle is Chicago blues, owing to Shepherd's home base being smack dab in the middle of the Texas triangle. Released in 1998, Trouble Is... earned a Grammy nomination and Live On followed a year later. In 2004 The Place You're In was released on Reprise Records, and was the first album to feature Shepherd doing the majority of the lead vocals (singer Noah Hunt handled the lead vocals on the previous two albums). Shepherd's next project saw him traveling in the American South with a documentary film crew and a portable recording studio as he backed up several veteran blues players on their home turf. The resulting album and film, 10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads, appeared in 2007 before Live! In Chicago followed in 2010. That November, Shepherd joined Jimmy Fallon's house band on TV for an evening, and performed with the same Fender Stratocaster that Jimi Hendrix had played at Woodstock. Although Shepherd had kept busy in the intervening years, 2011's How I Go was his first studio album proper in a seven-year period. In an attempt to revive the success enjoyed with 1998's Trouble Is..., he once again recruited Noah Hunt on vocals, as well as former Talking Heads keyboard player and guitarist Jerry Harrison, who had produced the sessions for that platinum-selling album. Shepherd followed How I Go with 2014's Goin' Home, a tribute to his musical heroes that featured contributions from artists such as Ringo Starr and Keb' Mo'. ~ Steve Huey & Richard Skelly http://rapidgator.net/file/480ee898c4964afac5c7e6ba78dc43b7/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolI2007.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/sHnUrr0lp/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolI2007.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/2h64wv8z/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolI2007.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://rapidgator.net/file/7ae35e656fce476b6ebe811200046432/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolII2007.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/BBKhFqqlp/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolII2007.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/wcadlmrr/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolII2007.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://rapidgator.net/file/4a7972f6cfbf08444133b4371158f6e8/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIII2008.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/suHlt4llp/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIII2008.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/6x7lquzy/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIII2008.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://rapidgator.net/file/cea5e29c840b0329498b6288a83ef2d2/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIV2008.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/yQnXwfvlp/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIV2008.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/tue9i1mo/KennyWayneShepherdLegendsVolIV2008.rar

  22. Artist: Kenny Drew Title: Undercurrent Year Of Release: 2014 (1961) Label: Blue Note Records Genre: Jazz Quality: FLAC (tracks) [24Bit/192kHz] Total Time: 38:40 Total Size: 1,65 GB Kenny Drew's seventh recording as a leader is significant for many reasons, not the least of which that it is one of the finest Blue Note hard bop statements in either of their catalogs. Teamed with rising young star, trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, and the wonderful tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley fresh off stints with Donald Byrd and Art Blakey, Drew is joining the ranks of the premier mainstream jazz pianists just prior to moving permanently to Europe. He's a complementary piece of the puzzle as a player, but stirs the drink as the composer of all of these very fine hard bop vehicles. Bassist Sam Jones and especially drummer Louis Hayes contribute mightily to the beats that keep Hubbard and Mobley flying on this recording, whose energy runs contrary to the more subtle, suggestive title. The band is roaring out of the gate on the title track in a Blakey-like stance, where Drew's rambling piano fortifies the under-the-surface horns. There's no messing around during the straight-ahead, fleet "Lion's Den," as the steady Hayes drives the combo, and Jones masterfully commands held tension-and-release segments. Toning it down into the blues spectrum, "Funk-Cosity" offers a beautiful melodic line where the identity might be typical, but the individualism of the performers is not. There's deft unison playing between the very compatible Hubbard and Mobley during the simplified "Groovin' the Blues," and even more pronounced on the ultra-melodic "The Pot's On," a gem of a tune that swings with a religious fervor via the adept drumming of Hayes. The lone downtempo track, "Ballade," is a real beauty as the trumpeter and tenor saxophonist wax poetic, but it is Drew whose cascading piano and deeply emotional romantic forays come across symphonically, like a young Erroll Garner. This is an extraordinary recording that reveals more upon repeat listenings. One does wish there was alternate or bonus material from this fine jazz band, but as is, it's the best of Drew as a leader aside from his quintessential work as a consummate sideman. 25. Artist: Kenny Burrell Title: Blue Lights, Volume 2 Year Of Release: 2000 Label: Blue Note Genre: Jazz Quality: FLAC (tracks) Total Time: 40:01 min Total Size: 252 MB Tracklist: 1. Rock Salt (11:23) 2. The Man I Love (6:47) 3. Chuckin' (12:14) 4. Phinupi (9:47) The second of two CD reissues of a jam session led by guitarist Kenny Burrell features the talented if forgotten trumpeter Louis Smith, both Junior Cook and Tina Brooks on tenors, pianist Bobby Timmons (Duke Jordan was on the first volume), bassist Sam Jones and drummer Art Blakey. The all-star group performs two standards ("Caravan" and the guitarist's feature on "Autumn in New York"), Sam Jones's "Chuckin'" and Burrell's "Rock Salt." This is excellent music that easily fits into the bop mainstream of the period. -- Scott Yanow http://rapidgator.net/file/4fd3eb4028749c8964bd2e72bec34194/KBBL2.rar.html ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://ssh.tf/WFOV0w3lp/KBBL2.rar ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss http://uploaded.net/file/rr2fp3er/KBBL2.rar
