After the death of his mother, Bernard sought admission into the Cistercian order. "Three years later, he was sent to found a new abbey at an isolated clearing in a glen known as the Val d'Absinthe, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) southeast of Bar-sur-Aube. According to tradition, Bernard founded the monastery on 25 June 1115, naming it Claire Vallée, which evolved into Clairvaux. There Bernard would preach an immediate faith, in which the intercessor was the Virgin Mary." In the year 1128, Bernard attended the Council of Troyes, at which he traced the outlines of the Rule of the Knights Templar, which soon became the ideal of Christian nobility. On the death of Pope Honorius II on 13 February 1130, a schism broke out in the Church. King Louis VI of France convened a national council of the French bishops at Étampes in 1130, and Bernard was chosen to judge between the rivals for pope. After the council of Étampes, Bernard spoke with King Henry I of England, also known as Henry Beauclerc, about Henry I's reservations regarding Pope Innocent II. Henry I was sceptical because most of the bishops of England supported Antipope Anacletus II; Bernard persuaded him to support Innocent. Germany had decided to support Innocent through Norbert of Xanten, who was a friend of Bernard's. However, Innocent insisted on Bernard's company when he met with Lothair II, Holy Roman Emperor. -BOOKS- CONCERNING GRACE AND FREE WILL LIFE AND WORKS OF SAINT BERNARD LIFE OF SAINT MALACHY OF ARMAGH ON CONSIDERATION ON THE LOVE OF GOD SERMONS OF SAINT BERNARD ON ADVENT & CHRISTMAS: INCLUDING THE FAMOUS TREATISE ON THE INCARNATION CALLED "MISSUS EST" SERMONS ON THE CANTICLE OF CANTICLES SOME LETTERS OF SAINT BERNARD ✅Publisher: AETERNA PRESS Rapidgator https://rg.to/file/828d7521bdc635fb3b67891cfd191897/rzyjn.rar.html TakeFile https://takefile.link/vtxjiew5rpcb/rzyjn.rar.html Links are Interchangeable - Single Extraction
  2. Free Download Len Shoemaker, William R Kreutzer, "Saga Of A Forest Ranger: A Biography Of William R. Kreutzer, Forest Ranger No. 1" English | 2020 | ISBN: 125819130X | EPUB | pages: 244 | 3.1 mb Leonard Calvin (Len) Shoemaker was born in Rosita, Colorado in 1881, and moved to the Glenwood Springs area with his parents in 1886. He worked at numerous jobs-ranch hand, mule skinner, stage driver, carpenter, coal miner, timberman, and many others. His connection with the Forest Service began in 1913 and continued until 1943, during most of which time he was a ranger of the White River and Roosevelt National Forests. He also spent much of this time writing, turnout out articles, stories, poems, radio scripts, and-as assistant in the Denver Branch of Information and Education-publicity releases. Mr. Shoemaker was thus uniquely fitted to write the story of the first United States Forest Ranger, his friend colleague, the late William R. Kreutzer. "This book is the story, the fascinating, realistic, convincing story of how Bill Kreutzer, the first Forest Ranger to be appointed, had to fight not only the trespassers and thieves, but his own superior officer, who did his best to prevent an honest and effective public servant from doing his duty, even to the extent of trying to get him killed.... "Bill Kreutzer's struggle to clean up the mess is by far the most vital part of his story. I am glad it has been told, for in these days, when the National Forests stand high in public esteem and support, we are apt to forget both what it took to put them where they are, and the men who made the fight that had to be made to do it." 3. Free Download Safety through Solidarity: A Radical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism (Activist Citizens' Library) by Shane Burley, Ben Lorber English | June 4th, 2024 | ISBN: 1685890911 | 288 pages | True EPUB | 1.60 MB Two activist journalists present a progressive, intersectional approach to the vital question: What can we do about antisemitism? Antisemitism is on the rise today. From synagogue shootings by white nationalists, to right-wing politicians and media figures pushing George Soros conspiracy theories, it's clear that exclusionary nationalist movements are growing. By spreading division and fear, they put Jews, along with other marginalized groups and multiracial democracy itself, at risk. And since the outbreak of war in Gaza, debates around antisemitism have become more polarized and high-stakes than ever. How can we stand in solidarity with Palestinians seeking justice, while also avoiding antisemitism - and resisting those who seek to conflate the two? How do we forge the coalitions across communities that we need, in order to overcome the politics of division and fear? Using personal stories, historical deep-dives, front-line reporting, and interviews with leading change-makers, Burley and Lorber help us break the current impasse to understand how antisemitism works, what's missing in contemporary debates, and how to build true safety through solidarity, for Jews and all people. 4. Free Download Safe and Sound: A Novel by Laura McHugh English | April 23, 2024 | ISBN: 0593448855 | True EPUB | 304 pages | 2.3 MB In a town no one ever leaves, there are only so many places to hide. As kids, Amelia and Kylee were found unharmed in their upstairs bedroom the night their teenage cousin Grace, who was babysitting them, vanished from the farmhouse in Beaumont, Missouri, leaving blood all over the kitchen. Scrappy and driven, Grace, the first in their family to go to college instead of getting married and working at the meatpacking plant, had been on the verge of escaping their dead-end town. Her disappearance is a warning to any local girl who dared hope for better. Now, as their own high school graduation looms, Amelia and Kylee dream about fleeing Beaumont, but the likelihood of that happening seems as low as that of Grace being found. When human remains are discovered in town, the sisters think they finally know who took Grace-but as they dig deeper into her past, they unearth long-buried secrets and a growing list of suspects. Amelia and Kylee vow to find Grace, dead or alive. But as they draw closer to the truth and slip further into danger, they question how far someone would go to put a woman in her place, or to cover up a crime. The answer is worse than they could have imagined, and in the end, it won't just be Grace they're trying to save-they'll have to fight for their lives. It was liberating. And fun."―Lee Child Twenty crime stories by the creator of Jack Reacher, never before collected For the past twenty years, Lee Child has been one of the bestselling authors in the world, thanks to the popularity of his iconic and instantly recognizable hero Jack Reacher. But even at the height of Reacher's fame, Child's short story writing was not confined to the series; throughout the course of his career, he published tales about a range of characters on both sides of the law, including assassins, a body guard, CIA and FBI agents, gangsters, and more. Meticulously Descriptionted and packed with Child's trademark action and suspense, the stories show the author's mastery of the short form, and they've never been collected before now. In "Ten Keys," a drug-dealing hit man feels that he must unburden his fears and guilt to a stranger. A rookie cop in "Normal in Every Way" is assigned to the department's file room, where he makes connections to historic dates that could lead to solving crimes. A methodical bodyguard quits his job when he's outsmarted. A military mission is planned to perfection. A potential worker for the Manhattan Project is carefully surveilled by an FBI agent. A killer preys on other killers. Taken together, these stories are a riotous calamity of criminals and crime fighters; individually, they are expertly crafted, piercing tales that hit hard enough to leave a mark. These twenty intriguing, thrilling, and rapid-fire fictions are sure to please new and longtime fans of Child and to illuminate a side of the author's work unknown to Reacher devotees. Featuring a colorful new introduction from the author, the collection stands as the first book written entirely by Child in three years. So why are Christians still thirsty? We throw ourselves into church work, Bible studies, prayer, missions, fellowship. Yet still we search restlessly for something more. What are we missing?Perhaps the answer is, more of Jesus. Church meetings and programs, ministry, Christian counseling, and home groups are all good, but they are not him. Our souls crave him alone. In Sacred Thirst, author and pastor Craig Barnes brings us face-to-face with our desperate longing for God. Like the woman at the well, we have tried to satisfy our parched souls with so many other things―even religious things. But when we get to the bottom of our desire, we find Jesus quietly waiting with his living water―intimatecommunion with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This book is filled with unique insights into human experience and the character of God. With his keen understanding of the needs of contemporary Christians, Barnes points to the only way our thirst will ever be satisfied. 10. Free Download Sacred Habitat: Nature and Catholicism in the Early Modern Spanish Atlantic (Iberian Encounter and Exchange, 475-1755) by Ran Segev English | August 29, 2023 | ISBN: 0271095334 | True EPUB | 230 pages | 18.7 MB Known as a time of revolutions in science, the early modern era in Europe was characterized by the emergence of new disciplines and ways of thinking. Taking this conceit a step further, Sacred Habitat shows how Spanish friars and missionaries used new scholarly approaches, methods, and empirical data from their studies of ecology to promote Catholic goals and incorporate American nature into centuries-old church traditions. Ran Segev examines the interrelated connections between Catholicism and geography, cosmography, and natural history―fields of study that gained particular prominence during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries―and shows how these new bodies of knowledge provided innovative ways of conceptualizing and transmitting religious ideologies in the post-Reformation era. Weaving together historical narratives on Spain and its colonies with scholarship on the Catholic Reformation, Atlantic science, and environmental history, Segev contends that knowledge about American nature allowed pious Catholics to reconnect with their religious traditions and enabled them to apply their beliefs to a foreign land. Sacred Habitat presents a fresh perspective on Catholic renewal. Scholars of religion and historians of Spain, colonial Latin America, and early modern science will welcome this provocative intervention in the history of empire, science, knowledge, and early modern Catholicism. 11. Free Download Stephen Skinner, "Sacred Geometry: Deciphering the Code" English | ISBN: 1402741294 | 2006 | 160 pages | PDF | 51 MB The Da Vinci Code has awakened the public to the powerful and very ancient idea that religious truths and mathematical principles are intimately intertwined. Sacred Geometry offers an accessible way of understanding how that connection is revealed in nature and the arts. Over the centuries, temple builders have relied on magic numbers to shape sacred spaces, astronomers have used geometry to calculate holy seasons, and philosophers have observed the harmony of the universe in the numerical properties of music. By showing how the discoveries of mathematics are manifested over and over again in biology and physics, and how they have inspired the greatest works of art, this illuminating study reveals the universal principles that link us to the infinite. This book reveals how the mining industry, abetted by a minority state, hid a pandemic of silicosis for almost a century and allowed miners infected with tuberculosis to spread disease to rural communities in South Africa and to labour-sending states. In the twentieth century, South African mines twice faced a crisis over silicosis, which put its workers at risk of contracting pulmonary tuberculosis, often fatal. The first crisis, 1896-1912, saw the mining industry invest heavily in reducing dust and South Africa became renowned for its mine safety. The second began in 2000 with mounting scientific evidence that the disease rate among miners is more than a hundred times higher than officially acknowledged. The first crisis also focused upon disease among the minority white miners: the current crisis is about black migrant workers, and is subject to major class actions for compensation. Jock McCulloch was a Legislative Research Specialist for the Australian parliament and has taught at various universities. His books include Asbestos Blues. 22. Free Download Ruben Castaneda, "S Street Rising: Crack, Murder, and Redemption in D.C." English | ISBN: 1620400049 | 2014 | 304 pages | AZW3 | 473 KB During the height of the crack epidemic that decimated the streets of D.C., Ruben Castaneda covered the crime beat for the Washington Post. The first in his family to graduate from college, he had landed a job at one of the country's premier newspapers. But his apparent success masked a devastating secret: he was a crack addict. Even as he covered the drug-fueled violence that was destroying the city, he was prowling S Street, a 24/7 open-air crack market, during his off hours, looking for his next fix. S Street Rising is more than a memoir; it's a portrait of a city in crisis. It's the adrenalin-infused story of the street where Castaneda quickly became a regular, and where a fledgling church led by a charismatic and streetwise pastor was protected by the local drug kingpin, a dangerous man who followed an old-school code of honor. It's the story of Castaneda's friendship with an exceptional police homicide commander whose career was derailed when he ran afoul of Mayor Marion Barry and his political cronies. And it's a study of the city itself as it tried to rise above the bloody crack epidemic and the corrosive politics of the Barry era. 24. Rust proved to be a boon for developers and works as the perfect solution for not only blockchain and protocol development but also dApp development. Rust for Blockchain Application Development focuses on demonstrating solutions that can help blockchain developers productize decentralized applications using Rust, which is a complex language with a steep learning curve. This book starts with basic Rust language concepts and then builds on these concepts to enable you to develop your own blockchain from scratch. As you progress, you'll learn how to build dApps on popular chains like Solana and NEAR. You'll also be guided through creating Ethereum dApps using Foundry (Rust). Finally, you'll develop a custom blockchain using Substrate by Parity (Polkadot). The book provides a complete 360-degree view of Rust in the blockchain ecosystem. By the end of this Rust book, you'll have a thorough understanding of how to apply your Rust knowledge to building dApps and blockchains from scratch. What you will learnUnderstand essential Rust concepts required to build blockchainApply blockchain features such as nodes and p2 communication using RustUnderstand and implement consensus in blockchainBuild and deploy a dApp on Ethereum with the Foundry framework in RustDevelop and deploy a dApp on Solana and the NEAR protocolBuild a custom blockchain using the Substrate framework by PolkadotWho this book is for This Rust programming book is for blockchain developers interested in building dApps on popular blockchains using Rust.
