Will the Circle Be Unbroken Friends always meant something special to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band their 1972 breakthrough, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, was filled with them so it only makes sense that the group rounded up a bunch of pals for a 50th anniversary concert held at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on September 14, 2015. Released a year later, Circlin' Back: Celebrating 50 Years does indeed play like a celebration. Revisiting an equal portion of hits and traditional tunes, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band sound as deep and wise as the Nashville veterans did when they guested on Will the Circle Be Unbroken, but the nice thing about the Circlin' Back concert is that it takes into account the smoother hits the band had in the '80s: Rodney Crowell and Alison Krauss sit in on "An American Dream" and Jimmy Ibbotson plays on "Fishin' in the Dark." Here, they're presented in stripped-down arrangements that nevertheless echo the soft rock gloss of the hit singles, and when combined with rollicking bluegrass, rustic folk, and straight-ahead country, it results in a full portrait of what the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is all about. Better still, Circlin' Back is just a good time: as John Prine, Vince Gill, Sam Bush, Jackson Browne, and Jerry Jeff Walker take the stage, the entire thing feels like a party which, of course, is what it was. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine http://rapidgator.net/file/9cdde31ee652a20f704968e3805f9c94/TheNittyBandCelebrating50.rar.html http://ssh.tf/3zcoj8shg/TheNittyBandCelebrating50.rar http://uploaded.net/file/xhzwe212/TheNittyBandCelebrating50.rar
  4. Dear Jerry: Celebrating The Music Of Jerry Garcia (2016) DTS-HD MA 5.1 Genre: Rock Quality: DTS-HD MA 2.0 / 48 kHz / 2306 kbps / 24-bit Time: 02:34:01 Full Size: 2,48Gb }â?? Essentially a warm-up gig for the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary shows, this double CD documents three sets of music performed by the surviving Grateful Dead members and a crew of fellow travelers. Ostensibly a tribute to one Jerome Garcia (1942-1995), this May 2015 show in Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion also celebrates the greater jam-band community, both musicians and audience, that keep the leading-averse bandleader's increasingly codified but mostly inquisitive spirit alive. â?? Tribute shows, with their Teleprompter-abetted guest spots, rarely equal the real deal, and this one's no exception. It does have its moments, however, beginning with Phil Lesh and his Communion ensemble's show-opening "The Wheel/Uncle John's Band," 17 minutes so silky and sinuously tuned-in you can almost understand the bassist's decision to blow off the rest of the event. And much of the second set stands as a kind of fathers-and-sons testament, with Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann shepherding the Disco Biscuits and other third-generation improv-rockers through spirited renditions of Grateful Dead jam staples "Scarlet Begonias/I Know You Rider" and "Help on the Way"/"Slipknot"/"Franklin's Tower." â?? Garcia's bluegrass buddy David Grisman ("Shady Grove"), New Orleans composer-pianist Allen Toussaint (Get Out of My Life, Woman"), and reggae icon Jimmy Cliff ("The Harder They Come") represent Garcia's various stylistic and cover enthusiasms. (Don Was led a crisp house band.) And Moe. ("Loser") and Widespread Panic ("Morning Dew") tackle their material with grace and gravitas befitting the uncompromising, decades-old jam masters they are. â?? Whether joining Los Lobos for "Bertha," or winding things down with "Touch of Grey" and "Ripple," Bob Weir, judging by the DVD version of the show, looks vaguely uncomfortable throughout, even while performing like the wise old trooper he still is. Perhaps he's pondering Lesh's absence, or, even more conspicuously, that of lyricist Robert Hunter, who arguably brought as much to this music, this legacy, as did his writing partner. In any case, Weir knows there's always another gig coming up down the road, and the final Dear Jerry letter is yet to be delivered. --Richard Gehr, Rolling Stone Tracklist: 1. Michele Lee - I Believe In You 19. Boston Pops Orchestra - Medley In that miraculous catalogue of songs written by Frank Loesser, "Heart and Soul" (1938) might not be counted among the masterpieces. Loesser wrote only its lyrics, to an endearingly, maddeningly mesmerizing tune by Hoagy Carmichael. The lyrics - a surprise to almost anyone who has pounded out the melody on a piano - tell you a lot, though. They seem artless, at first, direct, inevitable, a clever laundry list of deep romantic sighs that synchs perfectly with the gentle swagger of the melody. It's the "perfectly" part that grabs you. Once you hear the lyrics, it is impossible to hear the song the same way again. Loesser's words aren't artless. They just seem that way, because they land as deftly, as accurately, as Cupid's arrows. And with a cheeky grin that adds to the glow of the song's title. There may be no better shorthand for Frank Loesser's genius than the words "heart and soul." They never deserted him, from the dapper hit-parade favorites he wrote for Hollywood, to his ambitious Broadway career that produced - in little more than a decade - Where's Charley, Guys and Dolls, The Most Happy Fella, and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. A complex and sophisticated man, Loesser somehow managed to keep the essence of "heart and soul" in everything he wrote, without ever seeming glib. His craft deepened and broadened, but it never lost an almost streetwise honesty that is as dazzling and sharp as a diamond. You never feel cheated or manipulated in a Frank Loesser song. Seduced, maybe. Teased and kidded, certainly. Moved, almost always. And joyously entertained. A native New Yorker who tried to make it on Broadway in the early 1930s, Loesser perfected his skills in Hollywood, writing for the movies, at first in partnership with composers as impressive as Carmichael, Burton Lane, Jimmy McHugh, and Jule Styne. The second song he published as composer and lyricist - the morale-boosting "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition!" - was just what Americans needed to hear in the dark days of 1942. That success encouraged him to break away from collaboration, to develop a musical craft exclusively for himself. He returned to Broadway in 1948, and this time he was ready to step up. The show, Where's Charley, was a hit, and his enchanting score was a prin[beeep]l reason why Loesser had begun to chafe at a lack of control over his work in Hollywood, and at the limitations the studio process placed on him. Broadway offered him the opportunity to write Frank Loesser songs, for Frank Loesser shows. He kept his ties with Hollywood for a while, finally winning an Oscar in the spring of 1950 for the song "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and returned once more to write a magical score for the 1952 Danny Kaye musical film Hans Christian Andersen. But the die was cast. http://rapidgator.net/file/4a82ea382c0ddcacb7da1c4a99b7c55b/CelebratingFrankLoesser.rar.html http://ssh.tf/Mp016YEu7/CelebratingFrankLoesser.rar http://uploaded.net/file/gqbw5sc8/CelebratingFrankLoesser.rar

Born on July 22, 1964 and raised in the Bronx, New York, Calhoun graduated from the Berklee School of Music in Boston during the early '80s. Shortly thereafter, he met guitarist Vernon Reid, who invited the drummer to join a hard rock outfit he was putting together. With Corey Glover on vocals and fellow Berklee graduate Muzz Skillings on bass, Living Colour was officially formed in 1984. By 1988, the quartet was signed to Epic, and issued their debut album, Vivid, the same year. The album was a smash success (due to their anthemic hit single, "Cult of Personality"), as Calhoun was quickly singled out as one of rock's top drummers - winning awards in both Modern Drummer Magazine's Readers Poll and Rolling Stone Magazine's Critics Poll. Living Colour continued to issue albums through the early '90s (during which time Skillings was replaced with Doug Wimbish) - 1990's Time's Up, 1991's Biscuits, and 1993's Stain - before splitting up in 1995. Calhoun has also become quite an in-demand session drummer, as he's either recorded with or performed alongside the likes of B.B. King, Mick Jagger, Harry Belafonte, Pharaoh Sanders, Jack Dejohnette, Marcus Miller, Dr. John, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Ron Wood, Wayne Shorter, Run-DMC, and Public Enemy. Additionally, Calhoun has played on solo releases by most of his Living Colour bandmates - Corey Glover's Hymns and Doug Wimbish's Trippy Notes for Bass. Calhoun has also formed a group with Wimbish, Jungle Funk (who issued a self-titled release in 1998), and has issued several solo releases - 1994's Housework, 1997's Drumwave, and 2000's Live at the Blue Note - the latter of which was credited to the Will Calhoun Quintet. The late '90s saw Calhoun team up with Wimbish and Glover in a new band, Headfake, which eventually led to a full-blown Living Colour reunion just prior to 2001, as Reid signed on as well. Living Colour toured throughout 2001, and plan on issuing a studio album sometime in the near future. Calhoun is also serving as drummer and producer for an upcoming album by rapper Mos Def, for which he assembled a stellar backing band (dubbed Black Jack Johnson), comprised of Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell and Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know, among others. http://rapidgator.net/file/13b7549836f526f5dffbb94ca4676f62/-9005WCJ16.rar.html http://rapidgator.net/file/bbb7258174a5b41f4e31b52f207c4879/-9005WCJ16flac.rar.html http://ssh.tf/OBg0PkH1O/-9005WCJ16.rar http://ssh.tf/np8jbd5BO/-9005WCJ16flac.rar https://bytewhale.com/8rm8k50pp9l9/-9005WCJ16.rar https://bytewhale.com/jz8w25tn75g3/-9005WCJ16flac.rar

We interview early adopters and pioneering artists such as Bert Monroy, Chris Orwig, and Douglas Kirkland, as well as the people responsible for guiding Photoshop's development: John Nack, Russell Brown, and current product manager Bryan O'Neil Hughes.
