  4. Artist: Jim Messina Title: One More Mile Year Of Release: 2008-04-08 (1983) Label: Warner Bros. Records Inc./Wounded Bird Records (USA) Genre: Pop/Rock, Soft Rock, Country-Rock Quality: FLAC (img.+.cue+.log) MP3 320kbps Total Time: 38:35 Total Size: 317,76 125,72 Mb (Full Scans) Jim Messina, ex Buffalo Springfield, Poco & Loggins & Messina in this his second solo album is certainly a step up from His first solo outing "Messina" where the pop pretensions got in the way a tad. This one is more reminiscent of his Country Rock leanings in Poco and in fact on some its a pity that some of his former bandmates weren`t helping our on Backing Vocals. It also doesn`t hurt the album`s accessibility that there seem to be one or two borrowed half riffs or half melodies. Not a criticism at all. No this is good old fashioned driving music, not heavy on solos or strongly lyrical but pleasant none the less. As for the songs the title track is something strait out of the Poco songbook, before the next track "Meant to be Together" dips into melancholy. "I got radio" is a song whose content has been covered by artists before and since (Roger McGuinn, Back from Rio) but is lifted above the norm by a great lead guitar part at the end played by the man himself. Playin that Rock n` Roll is yep you guessed it Rock n` Roll. "The Island" sounds like he`s been talking to Paul Cotton in terms of the subject matter. "Treat her Right" could be on Glenn Frey`s "No Fun Aloud" All this is sound Messina music but wait the best is yet to come on track 7 where he suddenly remembers that he`s a class act and delivers accordingly with "We got to get back" Moody beautiful lead guitar, highlighting the mans talent in a wistful, love tune. "Big Tease" is filler but is followed by "Can`t live without you" which includes the familiar riffs I mentioned at the start. Good LA soft rock! If you enjoy Poco from their Ghost Town/Inamorata period or Randy Meisner`s solo work then you may well enjoy this. ~Review by Mitchell Howard~ Reissue of his 1983 album. Jim Messina has had a long history with music, being a member of both Buffalo Springfield & Poco. He was one half of the mega-duo Loggins & Messina. As well he issued a few solo albums. Two of those were on the Warner Brothers label. Messina was released in 1981 & One More Mile was released in 1983. The two albums have been long out of print and here it is back in a remastered version. Release of the album: 1983 [LP Warner Bros. 7. Artist: Jimmy Dawkins Title: Me, My Guitar And The Blues Year Of Release: 1997 Label: Ichiban International Genre: Electric Blues, Chicago Blues Quality: 320 kbps Total Time: 49:13 Total Size: 121 MB Tracklist: 1. Back To School (5:00) 2. You Don't Want Me (4:27) 3. Down, Down Baby (3:20) 4. I'm Running (6:08) 5. Tuff Girl (4:59) 6. Me, My Guitar And The Blues (6:48) 7. Jimmy's Bag (3:41) 8. Tru Love (6:13) 9. Back Street Blues (3:42) 10. Cold As Hell (4:51) Chicago guitarist Jimmy Dawkins would just as soon leave his longtime nickname "Fast Fingers" behind. It was always something of a stylistic misnomer anyway; Dawkins' West Side-styled guitar slashes and surges, but seldom burns with incendiary speed. Dawkins' blues are generally of the brooding, introspective variety -- he doesn't engage in flashy pyrotechnics or outrageous showmanship. It took a long time for Dawkins to progress from West Side fixture to nationally known recording artist. He rode a Greyhound bus out of Mississippi in 1955, dressing warmly to ward off the Windy City's infamous chill factor. Only trouble was, he arrived on a sweltering July day! Harpist Billy Boy Arnold offered the newcomer encouragement, and he eventually carved out a niche on the competitive West Side scene (his peers included Magic Sam and Luther Allison). Sam introduced Dawkins to Delmark Records boss Bob Koester. Fast Fingers, Dawkins' 1969 debut LP for Delmark -- still his best album to date -- was a taut, uncompromising piece of work that won the Grand Prix du Disque de Jazz from the Hot Club of France in 1971 as the year's top album. Andrew "Big Voice" Odom shared the singing and Otis Rush the second guitar duties on Dawkins' 1971 encore, All for Business. But after his Delmark LP Blisterstring, Dawkins' subsequent recordings lacked intensity until 1991's oddly titled Kant Sheck Dees Bluze for Chicago's Earwig Records. After that, Dawkins waxed discs for Ichiban and Fedora, and continued to tour extensively. ~Bio by Bill Dahl http://rapidgator.net/file/0cf4d3b4ff7ae3ed5e5f6d6af0abe043/JimmyDawkinsGuitar1997.rar.html http://ssh.tf/GQH1rVAsL/JimmyDawkinsGuitar1997.rar http://uploaded.net/file/qwnxham0/JimmyDawkinsGuitar1997.rar
  8. Artist: Jim Shaneberger Title: Work In Progress Year Of Release: 2013 Label: Industry Standard Entertainment Genre: Electric Blues, Blues Rock Quality: 320 kbps Total Time: 40:52 Total Size: 105 MB Tracklist: 01. One More Chance (3:32) 02. Running Your Mouth (3:56) 03. Trouble (4:41) 04. Work in Progress (5:51) 05. You Belong to Me (3:46) 06. Little Lylia (2:42) 07. The Storm Is Coming (4:11) 08. You're Fine (3:52) 09. Drinking Muddy Water (4:30) 10. Big Leg Woman (3:49) Work In Progress, Jim Shaneberger's debut album, features a mix of original compositions and rearrangements of classic blues and r&b songs that serve as tributes to blues legends that have passed on. Covers include: "One More Chance" by Michael Burks, "You Belong to Me" by Magic Sam, "You're Fine" by Chico Banks and "Big Leg Woman" by Freddie King. Songwriter and performing musician Jim Shaneberger has been a mainstay in the Michigan music scene for 15 years and counting, recording and touring with Flint, MI blues powerhouse Greg Nagy and the legendary Donald Kinsey. Best known as a bass guitarist and vocalist, Shaneberger's songwriting prowess makes its debut on Work in Progress. Recorded at Redwall North Recording Company in Grand Haven, MI, the songs boast a bluesy, funky, soulful combination with Shaneberger playing all parts except drums, which are held down by Jim's longtime friend and bandmate Karl Schantz. Shaneberger's original songs are a showcase of his diverse range of musical interests, each drawing from a unique genre and theme. "Trouble" is an r&b song with socially conscious lyrics; his 'change the world' song. "Running Your Mouth" is a nod to old school blues with a few twists and some very frank lyrics. "Work in Progress" is a commentary on his own life philosophy about growing goals leading to new challenges. "Little Lylia" is a poignant acoustic guitar instrumental written for his baby daughter. "The Storm is Coming" is a song about planting his flag in the music scene as a solo artist, announcing his arrival and "Drinking Muddy Water" is about the urge to travel and get his music out into the world, expressing the hunger for touring. Musically, it's like Johnny Winter meets Led Zeppelin. The Jim Shaneberger Band brings together adept musicians with backgrounds in blues, rock, gospel and funk for a lively stage performance. Schantz, featured on the album, and Shaneberger have worked together previously in the Greg Nagy Band, Harry Lucas & The Lowdown, Mercurial Son and The Funky Gentlemen. Bassist Robert Pace is steeped in gospel, jazz and r&b and has played with Marvin Sapp, Ken Reynolds, The Williams Brothers, Twinkie Clark, The DeBarges and more. "It's been a long time coming," said Jim Shaneberger. "I've always wanted to put something out there that's truly mine." http://rapidgator.net/file/288b769c02e46f7e5bbc65b4c9544f42/JimShanebergerProgress2013.rar.html http://ssh.tf/3wqZt1fsL/JimShanebergerProgress2013.rar http://uploaded.net/file/dowchhan/JimShanebergerProgress2013.rar

In college he found acting jobs easily until the draft sent him to war instead of to Hollywood. Byrnes kept his dreams, and himself, alive, and returned to follow his original goals as best he could after his tour of duty was over. A car accident put his acting career on hold again, so he turned his full attention toward music. Over the next few decades, he recorded a number of albums, and even found his way back to acting, both in films and television. In 1995 he landed a well-deserved spot in the British Columbia Entertainment Hall of Fame. James Thomas Kevin Byrnes was born in St. Louis, MO, in 1948. Byrnes started his musical training with piano lessons at the tender age of five. Even that early in his life, things were never easy for him. An illness almost ended not only his budding musical skills, but his life. By the time he entered high school, he had taught himself to play the guitar. He also gained an interest in acting around that time, and began taking drama classes that continued when he started college. Being drafted into the Vietnam War put a temporary hold on his career around the end of the turbulent '60s. Around 1970, Byrnes moved to Toronto, Canada, and launched into acting and music again. Just when he seemed to be getting a foothold in some kind of career, fate knocked him down again, this time with a serious car wreck that took almost any chance of acting away from him. He still had his music, and put his heart into it. He landed gigs wherever he could, touring with other bands through Canada and into the United States. Before the '70s ended, he put together a band of his own called the Jim Byrnes Band. It was while working with them that he recorded his debut album, Burning. It was released under the Polydor Records label in 1981. A year later, he received his first big music nomination for Most Promising Male Vocalist from the Juno Awards. Byrnes' sophomore album, I Turned My Night Into Day, didn't appear until 1987. That same year he landed his first recurring role in a television series; the name of the show was Wiseguy. He spent nearly four years working on the series. He also did a number of guest shots on other shows, and even some work in films. In 1993 he was cast as Joe Dawson on the popular Highlander television series and later in its spin-off, The Raven. With Highlander helping his fame, Byrnes recorded a third full-length album, That River. It was released under the Stony Plain Records label in 1995. In 1998, Stony Plain pulled his last two albums together and released them as a combination CD. Some of the electric blues tunes fans can sample from Jim Byrnes' recordings include "Bad Boy," "The Chill Is On," "Fire on the Bayou," "Shake Your Moneymaker," "Next Time You See Me," and "Just for a Thrill." ~ Charlotte Dillon http://rapidgator.net/file/dc5bc6a6233f615049a6e17b06fc34d8/jbfh.rar.html http://ssh.tf/MvY5sUWsL/jbfh.rar http://uploaded.net/file/3246l32k/jbfh.rar

The album was noted for marking a departure from Barber's established folk-pop style. On Chances, Barber instead works within a jazz style which was compared by critics to Doris Day and Peggy Lee. The album was recorded primarily at Blue Rodeo's Woodshed Studios in Toronto, with some string and horn arrangements recorded at the Glenn Gould Studio. Three of the songs were cowritten with Ron Sexsmith, and the album was produced by Toronto singer-songwriter Les Cooper. The album was named as a longlisted nominee for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize on June 15, 2009. http://rapidgator.net/file/0c7f7f343687fd07deacf823358b8544/Jil_BarberChancesFLAC.rar.html http://ssh.tf/Hg6LETJsL/Jil_BarberChancesFLAC.rar http://uploaded.net/file/ip7en8kh/Jil_BarberChancesFLAC.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/de5ab2d95b59f19632740278104ae08f/JillBarberChances.rar.html http://ssh.tf/0JyNH9YsL/JillBarberChances.rar http://uploaded.net/file/oebjj3z2/JillBarberChances.rar

Earthquake [04:50] 15. Reflexion [00:57] Jestofunk, the cream of Italy's fantastic IRMA Records, returns with another album of their own potent stew of electronica, jazz, and funk. For those who haven't heard the group, it's best to start with Love in a Black Dimension, as this serves as a better introduction to the Jestofunk credo and style; long-time fans most likely have had this album before its (finally) U.S. release and knew what to expect. Universal Mother is neither better nor worse than its predecessor; it seems to be more of a continuation of the first album...play them back-to-back to hear what I'm saying. The group has expanded its sound a bit, but there really isn't much room for improvement here, only small refinements, as Jestofunk was already at the top of its game. Once again, the group serves up some of the finest jazz-dance music around...you COULD call them acid-jazz, I suppose, but Jestofunk is so much more than that. Great horns (Fred Wesley returns!) and beats...this one's a must buy, kids. ~ Amazon.com http://rapidgator.net/file/b5fdb98732c499109b30216161417a3a/UNMO.rar.html http://ssh.tf/iuaenZHyL/UNMO.rar http://uploaded.net/file/0k4urm6k/UNMO.rar http://rapidgator.net/file/30094e7d14fc797c9cb95dd12c318860/UNMO320.rar.html http://ssh.tf/rtptMMVpL/UNMO320.rar http://uploaded.net/file/6fczl9r6/UNMO320.rar

Together they produced I'm Gonna Love You, which at the time was a sort of revolution in Dance music: for the first time Funk was incorporated with House in a perfect fusion. She grew up in Hemet, California and began playing the piano at age four, spending her childhood studying and performing in musical competitions. At 15, she was named Piano State Champion at the B??la Bart??k Festival in California. Later, she switched instruments to the saxophone. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in jazz studies, she turned professional, finding work backing Michael Bubl?? in the recording studio and playing in the touring bands for the Temptations, Jessica Simpson, Michael Bolton, Gloria Trevi, and Armando Manzanero. In 2004, she joined the touring cast of the off-Broadway musical Blast! as a singer/actress/dancer/saxophonist and toured with the show in the U.S., the U.K., and Japan. Producer/guitarist Paul Brown first gave her a featured spot in his show on February 14, 2006, after which she began to make appearances on her own, her first major show occurring at the Catalina JazzTrax Festival later in 2006. She issued a self-titled album in 2007, then signed to Peak Records for her second CD, Tequila Moon, released on March 4, 2008. Sing Pretty [01:58] On the proudly defiant "Blue Ridge Blood," singer-songwriter Chelle Rose puts her tough Appalachian roots on full display and even slyly acknowledges the dark artistic persona she has cultivated on her albums. "Couldn't get away from it if I tried, Blue Ridge blood," she shrugs. In-demand producer-songwriter Buddy Miller joins Rose on the song, adding low harmonies to Rose's throaty growl over austere percussion and Sergio Webb's lyrical dobro flourishes. "Blue Ridge Blood" is the title track from the East Tennessee native's forthcoming new album, which - like 2012's acclaimed The Ghosts of Browder Holler - will feature Rose exploring the troubled branches of her family and home region, but never apologizing for her upbringing. "I wrote the first line of 'Blue Ridge Blood' after an interviewer jokingly mentioned that my personality didn't match my dark writing and my images looked kind of mean," says Rose. "The second verse was inspired from a well-meaning letter mailed from Los Angeles to East Tennessee from my biological mother when I was a child. She said if I didn't change the way I talk, I'd never make it in this world. This song pays tribute to my heritage and staying true to one's self." http://rapidgator.net/file/740093aac00d628b8197b5b80d0d766e/BRB.rar.html http://ssh.tf/1ob7UhtoL/BRB.rar http://uploaded.net/file/dhognlfs/BRB.rar

Glory Glory Halelulja (4:25) Angela Brown is certainly a Blues Diva - "raucous, raunchy and rumbustious" are just some of the words used to describe this great singer. Born in Chicago, Illinois. Angela began her musical career by singing gospel music in church and performing with school choirs. And, although she was aware of the blues, she didn't devote herself to singing them until around 1980, when she played the role of Gertrude "Ma" Rainey in a stage musical. Inspired by the music, she worked, honing her craft, in numerous Chicago blues clubs, often accompanied by pianists Little Brother Montgomery, Erwin Helfer or Lovie Lee, or sharing the stage with her music friends, the likes of 'Blind' John Davis, Pinetop Perkins, B.B. King, Georgie Fame, Long John Baldry ... the list goes on. The Mighty 45s are a powerful, fusion of musical talent, crossing traditional musical boundaries and playing a seamless mix of blues, soul, rock and jazz in their own subtle, yet hard-hitting style. The recognition and respect for The Mighty 45s' musical integrity, is continually demonstrated by the demand for them to tour and record with American bluesmen Phillip Walker, Bo-Diddley, Sam Taylor, John Primer, Sherman Robertson, Jay Owens, Larry Garner, Lucky Peterson, The Memphis Horns and the irrepressible Chicago blues/gospel diva, Angela Brown. http://rapidgator.net/file/481b4e2c60ea1462c13fc6623e912ce0/abatmffsiadm.rar.html http://ssh.tf/L7RNyjg6L/abatmffsiadm.rar http://uploaded.net/file/oedg30dz/abatmffsiadm.rar

Alto sax player, arranger, and composer Buster Smith recorded sparingly during his career and this seven-track set, recorded in a single session on June 7, 1959 and released by Atlantic Records a month or two later, was the only album Smith did as a bandleader. It's a low key, pleasant affair featuring five original Smith compositions, including the lightly swinging "Buster's Tune" and the odd, wonderfully disjointed "King Alcohol," as well as versions of Kurt Weill's "September Song" and Will Hudson's "Organ Grinder's Swing." Smith's brother, Boston Smith, played piano at the session. Following a car accident in the early '60s, Smith was unable to continue playing sax and picked up the bass guitar, gigging regularly with various combos on bass in the Dallas area until his death in 1991. Sweet Tea (Live) (1:56) Like the apple of your eye, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys (GGB) are just what the doctor ordered! GGB have fashioned a style that leader Gunnar Nyblad describes as, "Country music with a Michigan root. In other words, GGB's country rocks! With a young beat and a driving force, the honest storytelling grabs your attention while the music makes you smile. The energy of a live Grizzly Boys show explodes into the audience like a dose of adrenalin. Gunnar, who still farms the family apple and fruit orchards he's been working all his life, is the conductor and lyrical leader of this band of Michiganders who came together during stages of his young life. While attending Michigan State University for an agricultural degree, Gunnar introduced his childhood friend, bass player Rob Mason (Kent City, MI) to his college buddies, lead guitarist Shane Grehan (Alpena, MI); guitarist/keyboardist Chris Newberg (Rockford, MI); and drummer Joe Connolly (Rochester Hills, MI). Gunnar and Rob had sung together and been in a Blink 182-styled band when they were youngsters. But deep in his heart, Gunnar knew that he had, indeed, been country his whole life and he put together the band that could convey the sound fans around Michigan wanted to hear. The group debut was opening for Justin Moore in 2009 to a sold out crowd at The Intersection in Grand Rapids. The Intersection continued to book GGB, now playing around the state, for Nashville acts until GGB reached headline status. At the same time, they played WBCT's Birthday Bash and WYCD's Detroit Hoedown. By 2013, GGB played the inaugural Live Nation Faster Horses festival in Brooklyn, MI, and by 2015 were on the main stage. They also were playing major festivals around the country in Florida, Delaware, Minnesota, Nevada and the Deadwood Jam in South Dakota. GGB's release of the popular anthem "Standard American" on Average Joes Mud Digger 5 brought national awareness for the band, which had opened shows for the label's Colt Ford, as well as Florida Georgia Line, Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert and many others. SiriusXM's The Highway started playing the song in June of 2014, along with local radio stations. It proved to be a hit, selling over 32,000 downloads in the US and Canada. Both the lyric and official video proved to be quite popular on YouTube, something the band had been known for. On April Fool Day, 2013, GGB put out a video that appeared as if they had performed "Could Be Me" in three trucks that travelled in front of the Google video street car. The hilarious performance topped 500,000 views almost immediately as was covered in Reddit.com and the Huffington Post. In 2015, the band also released high-quality videos for a new song, "Pedal To The Floor", and a remake of their own "Country Boy Tan Lines." Back in 2010, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys self-released their 12-song debut independent album Homegrown and followed it in 2011 with a 5-song EP Country My Whole Life. In 2013, the Grizzly Boys put out the North Country (EP) (produced by Ken Coomer). With a wide range of musical influences from classic country to Detroit rock to 90s punk, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys are one-of-a-kind in a genre of music that seems to be becoming one-in-the-same. http://rapidgator.net/file/97d0ff1bb2274973d2f9c993ffedc053/Gunnar___The_Grizzly_Boys_-_Live_2016.rar.html http://ssh.tf/mTHDtlSbL/Gunnar___The_Grizzly_Boys_-_Live_2016.rar http://uploaded.net/file/lgxi9duv/Gunnar___The_Grizzly_Boys_-_Live_2016.rar

  23. Artist: Jerry McCain Title: Love Desperado Year Of Release: 1991 Label: Ichiban Records Genre: Blues, Modern Electric Blues, Swamp Blues, Harmonica Blues Quality: Mp3/320 kbps Total Time: 44:01 Total Size: 109 Mb (covers) Tracklist: 01. Blues Tribute 02. Burn The Crackhouse Down 03. I Need To Do Something 04. Love Desperado 05. The World's On Fire 06. Lovin' School 07. I Used To Have It 08. Mercy, Mercy Mercy 09. Non-Stop Lovin' Not only is Alabama-born Jerry McCain a terrific amplified harpist, he's also one of the funniest songwriters working the genre and has been for more than four decades, as anyone who's dug his out-of-control 1950s Excello rockers "My Next Door Neighbor" and "Trying to Please" will gladly testify. McCain was born on June 18, 1930, in Gadsden, AL. As a youngster, Little Walter was McCain's main man on harp, an instrument McCain began playing at age five. Walter passed through Gadsden one fateful night in 1953 with his Aces, offering encouragement and a chance to jam at a local nightspot. That same year, "Boogie" McCain made his vinyl debut for Lillian McMurray's Trumpet label in Jackson, MS, with "East of the Sun"/"Wine-O-Wine" and his brother, Walter McCain, playing drums on the sides. McCain's 1954 Trumpet encore, "Stay Out of Automobiles"/"Love to Make Up," was solid Southern blues, but barely hinted at the galvanic energy of his subsequent output. Jerry McCain signed with Ernie Young's Nashville-based Excello logo in 1955, cutting "That's What They Want" with his usual sidekick Christopher Collins on guitar. "Run, Uncle John! Run," "Trying to Please," the torrid "My Next Door Neighbor" (a prior homemade demo version of the track that surfaced much later was even crazier), and "The Jig's Up" ranked with McCain's best 1955-1957 Excello efforts. The harpist is probably best-known for his two-sided 1960 gem for Rex Records, "She's Tough"/"Steady." The Fabulous Thunderbirds later appropriated the insinuating mid-tempo A-side, while McCain's harp chops were strikingly showcased on the flip. McCain waxed three 45s for OKeh in Nashville in 1962, utilizing Music Row mainstays Floyd Cramer, Grady Martin, and Boots Randolph as his backup for "Red Top" and "Jet Stream." A series of 1965-1968 sides for Stan Lewis' Shreveport-based Jewel Records included a tailor-made tribute to the company, "728 Texas (Where the Action Is)" (Jewel's address). Struttin' My Stuff After too many years spent in relative obscurity, McCain rejuvenated his fortunes in 1989 by signing with Ichiban Records and releasing Blues 'n' Stuff, followed three years later by Struttin' My Stuff and Love Desperado. In 2000, McCain released an all-star album This Stuff Just Kills Me for the Jericho label featuring Johnnie Johnson, John Primer, Anson Funderburgh, Jimmie Vaughan, along with the Double Trouble rhythm section of Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. McCain resurfaced on Ichiban in 2002 with the release of American Roots: Blues. http://rapidgator.net/file/3998d27481a6b19ac20648e0a1687885/jml.rar.html http://ssh.tf/QRNnW6BsL/jml.rar http://uploaded.net/file/n5revzny/jml.rar
