Ilya Efimov Bawu KONTAKT | 230 Mb The bawu is a Chinese wind instrument. Although shaped like a flute, it is actually a free reed instrument, with a single metal reed. It is played in a transverse (horizontal) manner. It has a pure, clarinet-like timbre and its playing technique incorporates the use of much ornamentation, particularly bending tones. The bawu likely originated in the Yunnan province of southwest China. It has become a standard instrument throughout China, used in modern Chinese compositions for traditional instrument ensembles. Although the bawu is still predominantly performed in China, it has in recent years been adopted by European composers and performers. Rohan Leach from England, Raphael De Cock from Belgium, and Herman Witkam from the Netherlands have all taken the instrument in new directions. The musician Guo Yue, who now resides in England, has long promoted the instrument and plays it on all of his recordings. Our bawu library will allow you to imitate virtually anything that a real bawu could play. We recorded intervals for up and down legato articulations in two variants: normal legato and glissando. We have provided the ability to vary the dynamics of the instrument to convey a wide, detailed range of expression from pp to ff. Natural vibrato may be added to the sound at any time. Staccato articulations provide added realism by means of a round-robin algorithm. Users can reassign keyswitches and midi-controllers, then save the changes to a user preset. The ukulele has its origins in Hawaii and originally was a interpretation of a small guitar-like instrument taken to Hawaii by the immigrants. It gained great popularity in the United States during the early 20th century, and from there spread internationally. The tone and volume of the instrument varies with size and construction. Ukuleles usually come in four sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone. The Ukulele Trio we provide consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone Ukulele. The baritone ukulele is naturally the largest ukulele and has a different tuning which is D-G-B-E, the same as the last four strings of a standard guitar (as opposed to G-C-E-A). The 'Ukulele Trio' consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone ukulele. Our main focus was to create an ukulele instrument with a natural and organic feel and which is easy and quick to use in music production. Saying so it´s clear we skipped complex articulations such as advanced solo playing abilities. We concentrated on three different articulations. Firstly we re-recorded the muted notes, which were already successful used in the former 'Muted Baritone Ukulele'. Further we added open and dead notes to it, all recorded in 4 round robin variation in up to 4 velocity layer. In addition to that we programmed a strumming engine which performs patterns based on the pressed keys. This is best suitable for accompanying your song or music. It is very easy to use; you only need to draw your pattern in the sequencer and flip between deadnotes and open strokes - that´s it. But you are also free to strum manually by selecting the 'strummed' articulation and play around with the keyswitches. Rykiel has long been involved with West African musicians, having collaborated with both the wonderful Salif Keita and Youssou N'Dour. For the balafon however, he knew of a virtuoso player from Burkina Faso named Mamadou Diabate now living in Austria. He enlisted Mamadou to play the instrument for a recording session that he would conduct himself. The recordings then made their way to us, and the result is the instrument you find here. The ukulele has its origins in Hawaii and originally was a interpretation of a small guitar-like instrument taken to Hawaii by the immigrants. It gained great popularity in the United States during the early 20th century, and from there spread internationally. The tone and volume of the instrument varies with size and construction. Ukuleles usually come in four sizes: soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone. The Ukulele Trio we provide consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone Ukulele. The baritone ukulele is naturally the largest ukulele and has a different tuning which is D-G-B-E, the same as the last four strings of a standard guitar (as opposed to G-C-E-A). The 'Ukulele Trio' consists of a sopran, a tenor and a baritone ukulele. Our main focus was to create an ukulele instrument with a natural and organic feel and which is easy and quick to use in music production. Saying so it´s clear we skipped complex articulations such as advanced solo playing abilities. We concentrated on three different articulations. Firstly we re-recorded the muted notes, which were already successful used in the former 'Muted Baritone Ukulele'. Further we added open and dead notes to it, all recorded in 4 round robin variation in up to 4 velocity layer. In addition to that we programmed a strumming engine which performs patterns based on the pressed keys. This is best suitable for accompanying your song or music. It is very easy to use; you only need to draw your pattern in the sequencer and flip between deadnotes and open strokes - that´s it. But you are also free to strum manually by selecting the 'strummed' articulation and play around with the keyswitches. By playing these instruments this way, you´ll get a special and unique string sound: intimate and intensive with slight organic scraping. The bass is available as an amped or a clean version. We used a Martin acoustic guitar and a Harley Benton acoustic bass. For each instrument we recorded every note in a short, long and tremolo variation in at least 2 Round Robin variations. The long and short notes are key switched in one patch (not in the amped bass version), in which you can control either the dynamic or the attack by using the modwheel. Epic SoundLab The Forge KONTAKT | 2.08 Gb The Forge is a Kontakt library aimed at Film, TV and Games composers. It is designed to offer a flexible environment to customize every sound and making your own. It contains mainly sounds suitable for Hybrid (electronic/orchestral) music. The Forge has a pretty GUI with a clear layout consisting of: a highpass filter, a lowpass filter, an ADSR envelope for the filter, an ADSR envelope for the volume, a step sequencer/arpeggiator with various modes and an FX section at the bottom with: Distortion, Saturation, Punch, EQ, Delay, Reverb and a stack function. The stack function will stack multiple voices/versions of the same sample for an ensemble style sound you can control the amount of voices, detune, stereo spread and note start time. The Sequencer/arpeggiator can operate in different modes: Arpeggiator - the order of arpeggiated notes is the order in which you play them, Polyphonic Sequencer - Works the same as the arpeggiator but all the notes are played at the same time, Gater - Only affects the sound amplitude. Per step you can change the velocity, the on/off value, the octave and semi-tone. Furthermore you can change the length and rate (16th, 8th, 8th triplet etc.) of the pattern. I like the Polyphonic Sequencer function as you can quickly program percussion patterns. Unfortunately you can only program one pattern per patch.
