Boxed Ear OSCar KONTAKT | 808 Mb Released in 1983 by the Oxford Synthesizer Company, it was a unique combination of analog and digital. The oscillators are a digital design with the capability of being able to build waveforms using additive synthesis. These feed into an analogue multi-mode filter design which was inspired by the Minimoog trick of looping the synths output back into the filter's input to overdrive the filter circuits, resulting in a characteristically crunchy sound. It's mostly digital, it aliases, its frequency range is limited and it's not velocity sensitive, but despite these limitations it sounds wonderful. Loops De La Creme Battle Of The Mini Synths KONTAKT | 1.31 Gb Loops de la Cr?¨me has launched Battle of the Mini Synths, a Kontakt instrument featuring the sounds of a collection of portable synths and toy keyboards. Julien of Loops de la Crem?¨ has collected a number of mini synths over the years. He loves the unique sound of them, but using the synths in the studio can be unpractical for various reasons. Since I really wanted to use these sounds in a more efficient way in the studio, I started 6 years ago to sample them in great detail and recreate some favourite patches in Kontakt. I recently acquired a couple of new mini synths, and designed a practical Kontakt skin with presets and effects that could be used for all these keyboards. The library Battle of the Mini Synths is the fruit of these efforts, it features 150 raw presets from 7 different mini synths, along with 8 drum kits and lots of additional patches and functions. Each of the featured synth was chosen for its sounds, and lots of efforts were made to retain the character of the source and capture the essence of the raw presets. Fluffy Audio Trio Broz Solo Violin v2.0 KONTAKT | 10.4 Gb We sampled a string trio of talented Italian musicians, Barbara (violin), Giada (viola) and Klaus (cello), at the amazing Teatro delle Voci in Treviso. The Violin features up to 3.5 octaves, 4 dynamic layers for sustained articulations, 2 legato types, 4 Round Robins for short articulations like Spiccato, Staccato and Pizzicato. We provide you the ability to create your unique sound by mixing the 3 microphones positions (Close, Mid and Far). The sampling was madetop quality gear: Schoeps and AudioTechnica microphones, Neve and Millennia Media preamps. When developing the library we tried to avoid over-processing the samples by using compression and normalization. Therefore we needed a special scripting device which could blend all the samples transitions in a very smooth and realistic way. We developed an external tool which analyzes the samples and imports this data into Kontakt called the Dynamic Control Engine. Thanks to the DCE, Kontakt knows the volumes of the samples currently playing in the instrument and matches the volume of the incoming samples with the previous ones. In the end the DCE works flawlessly "under the radar" leaving the user free to enjoy playing and building his expressive legato phrases. Furthermore, as you can see from the video below, the instrument features dynamic articulations like accented and crescendo attacks and glissando/legato articulations, dynamically controlled by the Pitch Wheel. This allows to craft beautiful musical phrases with a smooth beginning and a faded ending or abrupt accented notes with slurred passages along the way. The versatility of the DCE engine handles smoothly all these techniques. Therefore we needed a special scripting device which could blend all the samples transitions in a very smooth and realistic way. We developed an external tool which analyzes the samples and imports this data into Kontakt called the Dynamic Control Engine. Epic SoundLab The Forge-KONTAKT | 2.08 Gb The Forge is a Kontakt library aimed at Film, TV and Games composers. It is designed to offer a flexible environment to customize every sound and making your own. It contains mainly sounds suitable for Hybrid (electronic/orchestral) music. The Forge has a pretty GUI with a clear layout consisting of: a highpass filter, a lowpass filter, an ADSR envelope for the filter, an ADSR envelope for the volume, a step sequencer/arpeggiator with various modes and an FX section at the bottom with: Distortion, Saturation, Punch, EQ, Delay, Reverb and a stack function. The stack function will stack multiple voices/versions of the same sample for an ensemble style sound you can control the amount of voices, detune, stereo spread and note start time. The Sequencer/arpeggiator can operate in different modes: Arpeggiator - the order of arpeggiated notes is the order in which you play them, Polyphonic Sequencer - Works the same as the arpeggiator but all the notes are played at the same time, Gater - Only affects the sound amplitude. Per step you can change the velocity, the on/off value, the octave and semi-tone. Furthermore you can change the length and rate (16th, 8th, 8th triplet etc.) of the pattern. I like the Polyphonic Sequencer function as you can quickly program percussion patterns. Unfortunately you can only program one pattern per patch. It would be cool to have been able to create a few variations within the same patch and switch to them with keyswitches for example. Cinematique-Instruments Interval KONTAKT R2 | 374 Mb Interval isn't quite like anything else you've played. It is an instrument which â?žhas real life and breath" as composer Theodore Shapiro said. Inspired by contemporary compositions Interval pursues a new approach into building sounds. It is hard to explain, but in the broadest sense, it is an instrument for building inspiring pads, organic atmospheres as well as creative arpeggios. You can do things with it you can't do with anything else. During our latest recordings of orchestral instruments we have spent extra time for recording very light and fragile sound articulations. As the result we are happy to unveil an extraordinary collection of gentle and shimmering long notes of violins, celli, flute and trombones which are breathtaking. To round off this palette of sounds we have added some fine selected sounds such as harmonic violin, ebow guitar, a sine tone and more. Alone by playing these beautiful sounds in a traditional way like - without using the Interval engine - you will have a great experience of shimmering pads and organic sounds! The fundament of Interval are four separate sound slots which can be simultaneously played. Just click on the slot name to select one of the 17 instruments (see list below) to set up your favourite mix of sounds. Each sound can be used only once. In order to shape the overall sound there are a lot of tools available: attack/ release time, increase/ decrease of the highs and lows, three delays with adjustable feedback, a reverb and and an LFO which works separately for the four sound slots. After creating your sound, you can now spread the four sound slots separately to each interval step. Just click on the interval nodes to activate or deactivate the corresponding interval. Each interval step has also a separate volume control. To understand how it works just change the interval (bold number in the centered field) and see what happens when you play a note. (more detailed described at the Engine View). Interval provides four intervals slots. You can access these different intervals by keyswitches (C0 - Eb0) or in chain-mode which skips through the intervals by each key stroke. R2 features Bonus Intimate Piano: In addition to that you get - as a bonus - the Intimate Piano which fits very well to the strings. Intimate Piano is a completely new recorded set of samples of our beloved Zeitter & Winkelmann upright piano. We recorded the piano with two different sets of mics. One version was recorded with a pair of condesnser mics in the floor area of the piano and the other was done by a field recorder lying on the ground of the it. We have restricted ourselves to record just a very low and gentle velocity level of the piano. This kind of playing along with the unique recording setting results into its charming, warm and intmate sound. Finally we added some EQ options, a reverb and furtherly the option to mix some string or pot fx noise to the piano which let's it quickly sound very artificial and experimental.
